How to make air fried barbecue chicken wings in an air fryer that are crispy and juicy without actually frying in oil!
This post is sponsored by Louisiana Fish Fry Products. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The thought of eating actual fried food made the traditional way hasn’t crossed my mind in a long time thanks to my air fryer! To say I’m obsessed with “frying” foods the healthy way without oil in my air fryer would be an understatement!
Air fried wings, chicken strips, chicken nuggets, and pork chops are some of my favorites to name a few!
One recipe I make the most in my air fryer this time of year for football season is air fried barbecue chicken wings. They come out so juicy and crispy and are so easy to make!
When it comes to making air fried barbecue chicken wings, I prefer a crispy texture as opposed to a baked texture.
There are several ways to get a crispy texture when cooking chicken wings in an air fryer, but my personal favorite is using the Louisiana Fish Fry Air Fryer Chicken Coating Mix
The coating mix is ready to go and all you have to do is coat your chicken before air frying making it super quick.
As a Louisiana native myself, I know that I can always count on Louisiana Fish Fry Products for the best local flavor too!
I mean just look at how crispy these air fried chicken wings are!
I did not add anything to these “fried” chicken wings except for the Louisiana air fryer chicken mix and look how crispy they are! They are perfectly seasoned too!
These air fried chicken wings can be enjoyed as is or with your favorite sauce. In my house, that’s bbq, so today I’m going to share my super simple recipe for air fried barbecue chicken wings!
AIR FRIED BARBECUE CHICKEN WINGS
What You Need to Make Air Fried Barbecue Chicken Wings
Ingredients
– 5 oz box of Louisiana Fish Fry Products Air Fryer Chicken Seasoned Coating Mix
– 2 lbs chicken wings
– Barbecue sauce
How to Make Air Fried Barbecue Chicken Wings in the Air Fryer
To make air fried barbecue chicken wings without using oil, first you’ll need an air fryer! The bigger the air fryer the better, preferably, so you can make them all in one batch!
When using the Louisiana Fish Fry Products Air Fryer Chicken Seasoned Coating Mix, first moisten the chicken wings thoroughly in either an egg wash or ice cold water.
Place the chicken wings in a single layer inside the air fryer basket or rack.
To ensure even cooking, do not stack the chicken wings on top of each other.
For bone-in chicken wings, air fry at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Set a timer and flip the chicken wings halfway through the cooking process.
Cook to an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
When the air fried chicken wings are done, they will be golden brown and crispy! Allow the wings to cool for several minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, toss the wings in your favorite barbecue sauce, then serve and enjoy!
Fun tip: since you don’t add the sauce until the end, you can have a little fun with this recipe and try a bunch of different sauces and flavors!
