I will say I’ve become “more” of a morning person the older I get though, although I don’t think I’ll ever fully consider myself a morning person!
Making changes to my morning routine is the one thing that’s helped me the most to become more of a morning person. If you’re looking to refresh your morning routine, I’m here to help! I truly believe how you start the day sets the tone to the rest of the day. Waking up feeling recharged, refreshed, and fully ready to tackle whatever the day throws at me is always my goal.
It wasn’t until I learned how to “trick” myself into becoming a morning person that I embraced the morning time and was able to feel refreshed and capable to take on the day to the fullest.
It all comes down to positive habits and lifestyle changes you can make to your routine!
5 CHANGES TO MAKE TO REFRESH YOUR MORNING ROUTINE
Create a Morning Self Care Routine
Self-care is super important and can really go a long way. We’ve all heard this time and time again, but let this be a friendly reminder. My #1 trick to feeling refreshed in the morning is instantly showering, washing my face, and brushing my teeth. I love face washes with mood-lifting scents and tingling extracts. These always seem to wake me up!
For oral care, I like to use LISTERINE® READY! Tabs™ Chewable Tablets in Soft Mint after I brush my teeth! They provide the perfect amount of refreshment without being overly strong. I also like to keep these in my bag for when I need a quick refresh when I’m on the go. These less intense chewable solid to liquid tablets will leave your mouth feeling just as clean as brushing, which is a great option for when you’re not home and able to do so. They’re sugar-free, gluten-free, vegan, kosher, and don’t contain any alcohol. They work by chewing to activate, swish to clean, and then swallow and go! Swish smarter, not harder. The tablets keep your breath fresh for 4 hours! It’s great for helping to curb “mask breath”….thanks 2020!
Plan for Morning Workouts
I used to assume that working out at the start of my day would just make me tired the rest of the day, but it’s actually the opposite! If you’re constantly feeling sluggish in the mornings, give early work outs a try! You may feel tired at first, but once your body adjusts to the new schedule, chances are you’ll feel much more awake and accomplished!

Build a Busier Morning Schedule
This may sound off, but it actually can be beneficial to change up your schedule and shift more things to the morning time. By doing so, you’ll sort of force yourself into being a morning person and may end up liking it! Remember, consistency is key here! The more you can get done earlier in the day, the more successful and accomplished you’ll feel! It’s kind of like a mind game in a way. Anything that reduces stress is a win, right!?
Set a Consistent Bedtime
Consistency is again key here! Remember when we were little and we had set bedtimes on school nights!? That was for good reason! Our parents knew what was up! For the longest time, I’ve always thought “I’m an adult, I don’t need a bedtime!” Well guess what!?! Turns out a bedtime is super beneficial! This helps your body get into a routine! The more consistent I am, the less tired I feel. I highly recommend you set a reasonable bedtime and stick to it if you struggle with feeling tired in the mornings.
Keep Your Phone Away from Your Bed
Raise your hand if you’re guilty of lying in bed and scrolling through your phone in the morning (I think most people would have to raise their hand)! Here’s a simple solution – don’t keep your phone near the bed! This is helpful not only in preventing the daily morning scrolling, but it also forces you to get out of bed when your alarm goes off!
There are so many tips and tricks we can all do to refresh our morning routines and feel recharged.
Now that I’ve shared some of my favorites, it’s your turn!

Pre-kid I could make myself get up early. Now I just treasure every last second of sleep —- and I’m totally the person who works out at 9 pm. Saving these tips for *one day* when I get more motivated 😉
