Quarantine isn’t fun, especially when everyone in the house (including the pets) are on the brink of going stir crazy!
While many states have opened back up, I know a lot of us are still stuck inside our homes, whether that be due to new work from home arrangements or because it’s still not safe the venture out.
As we all know, it’s so important to get out and get some fresh air! Let’s not forget about our pets though! They need exercise and entertainment too!
When I first learned of the stay at home orders a few months ago, I thought for sure our Goldendoodle was going to go crazy being cooped up in the house for so long. Luckily we quickly figured out how to get through it so everyone could remain happy!
If your pet seems bored and down, here’s how you can keep them entertained while you’re stuck at home!
Tips for Keeping Dogs Entertained While Stuck at Home
Make Time for Outside
If you have a backyard, that is perfect! A walk around the block is also just as good! This is a no-brainer, but I’m putting it out there for those of us that could use a reminder – myself included! I’m 100% guilty of not always wanting to go outside and throw the ball or frisbee with Charley because it’s too hot, but the exercise is so important for your pet’s mental and physical health!
Also, a tired dog is a good dog they say! Wear them out and they won’t go looking for trouble inside! 😉
Treats, Treats, and More Treats!
I’ve never met a dog that didn’t like treats! Yummy treats make for happy pets!
They’re not picky, but my dogs do love Old Mother Hubbard All-Natural Dog Snacks and that makes me so happy! I try to be mindful of what I feed my pets and only want what’s best for them. I love treating them with these treats made from homestyle recipes crafted from wholesome ingredients. It makes me feel good about giving my dogs a reward that’s both healthy and heartfelt!
To keep them entertained, I make sure to have a variety of snacks on hand. They love the P-Nuttier Dog Biscuits, but the original assortment is a great option with lots of flavors too. Treat time is literally the highlight of their day!
Get Some Puzzle Games
Puzzle games are the perfect toy to stock up on while you’re stuck at home! These can keep your pet entertained for a long time and work great to stimulate their mind! The key is to hide tasty treats in the puzzle for them to find! You don’t even have to buy something fancy. In fact, you can make one at home with a muffin tin and some tennis balls! Just simply put a treat inside one of the muffin spots and cover each hole with a tennis ball and your dog will try to figure out where the treat is!
Play Hide and Seek
This is a fun way to give your dog some exercise indoors when the weather isn’t ideal for outside! Side note – this can be entertaining for both dogs and humans, so it’s a double win!
A little can surprisingly go a long way! A bored dog is a bad dog, so as long as they’re happy, all is good! Luckily it doesn’t take much to keep them entertained!
I’d love to hear what you do to keep your dogs entertained!

What an adorable pooch! We used to have a sweet golden retriever – when we’re ready for another pet we’re thinking of choosing a goldendoodle!

We got on a walk in the morning and a walk in the evening to keep our dog entertained. Occasionally, we will take her to the dog park or a school field to run around for a bit.
