One of my favorite recipes to make at home is steak & shrimp grilled surf and turf kabobs! They’re so easy to make and are flavorful. What I love the most is that steak and shrimp surf and turf is one of those meals you can enjoy any night of the week with minimal planning, ingredients and time. Thankfully, I have my favorite McCormick Grill Mates Garlic, Herb and Wine marinade to help me!
With easy ingredients to help out with recipes like this, grilled kabobs are always in rotation for meals in my home! Steak and shrimp are my favorite combo, but kabobs are very versatile and you can use any meat or veggie you like!
While it’s best made fresh, you can also consider these surf and turf kabobs a quick freezer meal if you have any frozen steak and shrimp on hand. While we’re currently limiting our trips to the grocery store, that may not be a bad idea!
For this steak & shrimp kabob recipe, you only need 15-30 minutes to allow for the steak and shrimp to marinate, and no more than 20 minutes for cooking on the grill.
Not bad for such a delicious meal, right!?
GRILLED STEAK & SHRIMP SURF AND TURF KABOBS RECIPE
Ingredients
1 package McCormick Grill Mates Garlic, Herb & Wine Marinade
1 pound fresh peeled shrimp
1 pound steak, cut into chunks
1/4 cup oil
1/4 cup water
1 tablespoon white vinegar (or balsamic vinegar)
HOW TO MAKE GRILLED STEAK & SHRIMP SURF AND TURF KABOBS
1. Mix the marinade with oil, water and vinegar in bowl. Set aside 2 tablespoons of marinade for basting.
2. Place the steak and shrimp in separate resalable plastic bags. Pour half of the remaining marinade in the bag with the steak and pour the other half of the marinade into the bag with the shrimp.
3. Refrigerate for 15 minutes or longer for extra flavor, but no longer than 30 minutes for seafood.
4. Remove the steak and shrimp from the marinade and discard any remaining marinade.
5. Place the steak and shrimp onto kabobs.
6. Preheat the grill, then fully cook the shrimp and grill the steak until desired level of doneness. Baste the kabobs with reserved marinade halfway through cooking and discard any left over marinade.
These grilled surf and turf kabobs are perfect for entertaining since they’re easy to make and it’s something that everyone can enjoy. The garlic flavors of the marinade compliment the tender steak and shrimp perfectly too!
For this recipe I used garlic, herb, and wine, but you can easily change it up with your favorite flavors or make a variety of them all if you’re entertaining a large crowd!
