Staying at home and practicing social distancing doesn’t mean you can’t have a movie night watch party with your friends! You can enjoy the same fun experience with friends from home, virtually!
Virtual movie nights are just one of the ways we’ve been keeping ourselves entertained during these strange times. We have plans for a movie night this weekend with the new Dolittle DVD, so I thought now would be the perfect time to share some fun ideas that you, your friends, and your family can enjoy virtually with one another!
If you haven’t given it a try already, I highly encourage you to make your next movie night a virtual movie night with your friends!
At first it may seem strange, because who wants to stare at someone staring at their tv, but really it can be fun once you get past the technical part of getting everyone in sync on the same part of the movie!
Virtual watch parties allow you all to share your reactions and thoughts on different scenes in real-time, just as you would if you were actually together. It’s the perfect definition of being alone together!
Plus, there are some cool activities you can throw into the mix to keep things fun after the movie is over.
Virtual Movie Night Party Ideas:
- Interact digitally through services like Zoom
- Host a Facebook Live chat about the movie
- Have a movie-themed cookie decorating contest
- Try a new movie themed recipe and livestream the process
- Have a costume contest with characters from the movie
- Create a movie-themed craft and share your final product
If you’re looking for a great family friendly movie suggestion to enjoy with everyone, the new Dolittle movie won’t disappoint!
Grab a copy of the new Dolittle DVD from Walmart or Walmart.com while getting your weekly essentials, and maybe throw in an extra snack or two for your movie night! Get a handful of your family and friends on board for the virtual party and you’ve got a great night ahead!
Ps – Dolittle is the perfect movie to have a virtual costume contest or game of virtual charades with given the amount of silly animal characters!
Let me know if you decide to have a virtual movie night party! I’d love to hear how it goes!

Love this post! I have been using the Netflix party feature and it is amazing. I
have also tried to FaceTime with friends while watching something. It is so important with everything going on right now! Great read:)

These photos are absolutely adorable! Love the idea of a virtual movie night – I think the idea of including everyone in on a Zoom call is genius!

What a cute idea! I’ve been trying to think of ways to connect with my 11 year old niece, and this seems like a fairly easy way to do so! PS: Cute pups!
