Ingredients for Crispy Southern Oven Fried Chicken
Marinade Ingredients:
3 cups buttermilk
2 tbs hot sauce
1 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Breading Ingredients:
12 pcs mixed chicken
2 cups flour
2 cups Argo® Corn Starch
1/2 cup corn flakes, crushed
2 tbs hot sauce
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp cayenne pepper
2 tsp cajun seasoning
1 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
How to Make Southern Oven Fried Chicken
To Marinade:
1. Wash chicken thoroughly, then pat dry.
2. Stir buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, and cayenne pepper together in a bowl.
To Bread:
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs and hot sauce, then set aside.
2. Stir together flour, Argo® Corn Starch, crushed corn flakes, baking powder, cayenne pepper, cajun seasoning, salt, garlic powder, black pepper, and paprika in a large mixing bowl.
3. Remove the chicken from the marinade, dip in egg wash mixture, then coat in breading.
4. Shake off excess flour, then place the chicken in a glass baking dish.
5. Lightly spray the chicken with cooking oil.
6. Preheat the oven to 425, then bake for approximately 45 minutes or until done.

My husband and I are the biggest fan of chicken wings. Even when we actually fry our chicken, we use corn starch. It’s awesome for keeping the skin nice and crispy, the meat nice and juicy, and helps any sauce to stick better too! It’s a great addition!
