I’m typically a creature of habit, but never when it comes to my morning and nightly routine. I love trying new beauty and personal care products and I’m always looking for ways to improve.
I recently added an extra step to my morning routine and y’all, I don’t know how I never thought to try this before or why it’s not as common it should be, or at least I don’t think it is!
Raise your hand if you have a tongue cleaner… anyone!? You’re probably thinking “what the heck is this girl talking about?” but hear me out! If you’re not cleaning your tongue, you’re doing it wrong! While I was shopping for a new toothbrush, I stumbled across the Orabrush Tongue Cleaner. I had never heard of such a thing before, although I had always just quickly brushed my tongue with my toothbrush when I felt the need to. Turns out I was doing it all wrong too! I’m so glad I added this to my routine going forward.
THE FACTS
Here are the facts: 90% of bad breath is caused by a dirty tongue, and cleaning your tongue promotes good breath. Toothbrushes can only go so far to clean your tongue, and their tightly packed bristles are best kept for the smooth surface of your teeth.
Orabrush® tongue cleaner gets down into the crevices of your tongue and removes bad breath-causing bacteria. It’s an easy solution to be used in addition to your toothbrush (it’s not a replacement!) for removing bacteria and keeping breath fresh.
HOW IT WORKS
How does a tongue cleaner work you may ask? Well, the soft micro-pointed bristles reach deep into the uneven crevices of your tongue to loosen and lift away bacteria that causes bad breath. It’s designed after a surgeon’s scrub brush. The tongue cleaner collects and removes the bacteria and residue generated from brushing, which helps fight bad breath and helps keep your tongue happy! Who knew!?
So now I can’t help but wonder why tongue cleaners weren’t a common thing when we were kids and learned how to brush our teeth. Tongue cleaning is now a crucial step in my morning routine. I guess the old saying was right – better late than never!

I was given a tongue cleaner by my dentist awhile ago and it has been a game-changer for me. I love it! I am due for a new one soon. I will have to check this one out!
