Cue the sweet summer time and all the barbecue! We practically live outside this time of the year and I wouldn’t trade it for the world, although I could do without some of the humidity!
I love grilling out, especially for weeknight dinners and weekend entertaining. It allows us to relax outside on our patio and enjoy the view of our pond with a drink in hand, which is one of my favorite ways to unwind in the evening, plus the dogs get to run around and let out all their pent up energy from the day! We tend to eat much healthier meals when we grill too, and that’s always a bonus!
My hubby loves grilling so it works out perfectly and I don’t have to do any cooking! One of our go-to recipes is chicken kabobs – they’re nearly foolproof and are always a delicious hit! There are surprisingly many ways to change things up when making kabobs too.
Teriyaki chicken kabobs are perfect for summer and are fun to eat because dinner on a stick is always better, am I right!? Grilled chicken kabobs can be made so many ways with all the different sauces and marinades out there, but I just love a good ole teriyaki glaze with some grilled peppers.
Check out the recipe below to see how easy they are to make!
GRILLED TERIYAKI CHICKEN KABOBS RECIPE
Ingredients for Grilled Teriyaki Chicken Kabobs
– 3 large chicken breasts
– teriyaki sauce marinade
– green bell pepper
– yellow bell pepper
– pineapple chunks
– salt & pepper
– bamboo skewers
How to Make Grilled Teriyaki Chicken Kabobs
1. If using bamboo skewers, let them soak in water for 30 minutes prior to grilling to prevent burning. After soaking, dry them off.
2. Cut the chicken breast into bite sized chunks and season with salt and pepper.
3. Marinade the chicken breast in teriyaki sauce for at least 30 minutes prior to grilling. Set a small cup of marinade aside for basting.
4. Slice the bell peppers into small pieces to fit the skewers.
5. Stack pieces of marinated chicken onto the skewers, separated by the bell peppers.
6. Grill for approximately 15-20 minutes over a direct flame, or until the chicken is fully cooked. Baste the chicken kabobs with the set aside marinade approximately 5 minutes before the kabobs are ready to come off of the grill.
All good things come with a small price to pay and barbecued finger foods are no exception! These grilled teriyaki chicken kabobs are deliciously messy, but worth every bite and every saucy finger that needs to be cleaned – just be sure to stock up on some paper towels because you’ll be sure to need them after this finger licking good meal!
Since we typically eat our grilled meals outside, we make sure to keep a few essentials outside so we don’t have to bring the mess inside. I’m a fan of the new Brawny® Tear-A-Square® paper towels for a few reasons.
I don’t always need a full-sized sheet so these are my new go-to since they have full, half, and quarter sheet sizes so you can use just what you need without any waste. The quarter size sheets are especially helpful for smaller messes, or if you just want similar in size to a traditional napkin. These are great for setting the table when hosting barbecues and dinner parties!
A little goes a long way, so if you’re planning on entertaining or hosting a barbecue, be sure to stock up on these for your guests as they’ll for sure get the job done. By being able to choose your size, you won’t waste nearly as many paper towels as you typically would during a barbecue! You’ll eliminate waste and save money – it’s a win-win!
If you’re looking for a fun way to change up this teriyaki chicken kabob recipe, you can also add chunks of pineapple to the skewers for a more tropical flavor! If you’ve never had grilled pineapple, you’re truly missing out! You must give it a try!!
