I love making homemade smoothies, and even more so, I love all of the healthy possibilities there are for smoothies! I’m not much of a fruit eater, so to get my daily dose, I drink lots of smoothies.
One of my favorite things to do with smoothies is “sneak” in superfoods. It’s such a great way to get some added health benefits and best of all, you don’t even know they’re there!
Today I’m sharing a delicious recipe for a probiotic power smoothie, which is the perfect recipe for sneaking in gut healthy Mariani Probiotic Pitted Prunes, antioxidants, and also a little bit of protein!
Probiotics are so important for our gut health since 70% of our body’s immune system is in our intestinal tract. Fortunately there are many ways we can add probiotics to our diet; however, not all sources of probiotics have the same benefits. The best way to get the maximum benefits of probiotics is to consume probiotic rich foods.
My go-to probiotic smoothie ingredient is Mariani Probiotic Pitted Prunes. These California grown probiotic prunes support overall wellness and digestive health, so you can feel better and be your best! They are a prebiotic and probiotic, and we all know prebiotics are crucial! Prebiotics are what probiotics feed off of, so it’s important to have both. The Ganeden BC30 probiotic in Mariani Probiotic Prunes is uniquely designed by nature to survive and thrive in conditions other probiotics can’t. Ganeden BC30 delivers active probiotics ten times more effectively than probiotics in yogurt, so I make sure to always add these to my smoothies and consider my greek yogurt my source of protein rather than probiotic.

Homemade smoothies are my absolute favourite! They’re such a great way to consume nutrients. I must admit, prunes aren’t typically something that I eat (or even think about) but these probiotic prunes sound wonderful! Definitely something to consider in my next grocery shop. x
