I believe how you start your day lays the foundation for how the rest of your day will go. In my experience, unbalanced mornings usually lead to unbalanced and hectic days, and nobody has time for that! The same goes for food. If I start my day off with a bad “cheat” meal, chances are I’m more likely to let myself slide the rest of the day since the damage had already been done. Nobody has time for that either! It’s a bad pattern to fall into.
I’m all about productive, good days, so I strive to kick each day off on the right start. This all comes down to what I do in my morning routine. Sure, life gets in the way sometimes and things don’t always go as planned, but when you have a balanced routine with positive habits in place, it gets easier to stay on track.
Today I’m sharing a few positive habits I’ve added to my morning routine that make all the difference in my life throughout the day. These positive habits make me feel better, and there’s no better feeling than that!
Positive Habits To Add To Your Morning Routine
Start Each Day with A Glass of Lemon Water
Starting each day with a glass of water is something we should all do to support our bodily functions and stay hydrated, but you can take it one step further by adding lemon to your water for digestive support. I like to drink a glass of lemon water immediately when I wake up every day. Hydration goes a long way!
Eat a Probiotic Packed Breakfast
Research suggests there are many digestive health benefits to incorporating probiotics into your lifestyle, so in addition to taking a daily probiotic supplement, I’ve searched for more ways to add probiotics into my diet. Probiotic packed yogurts are one of the best and tastiest ways to do so. I decided to take part in the Activia 2 Week Challenge to hold myself accountable. I love yogurt, so finding a yogurt packed with live and active probiotics just made sense for me! I eat Activia probiotic yogurt every morning with my breakfast and I have been feeling great. This is something I think I will continue doing! Join the 2-week challenge with me!

Create a Schedule for Daily Vitamins
I take a lot of supplements, but the truth is, if I don’t have a set schedule for them, I’ll forget to take them. I highly recommend setting a specific time to take your vitamins every day so you don’t forget! For something that seems so simple, I’ve surprisingly forgotten to do this way too often, but it’s getting better. Routine and consistency are key.
Go on a Short Walk
A quick walk in the mornings is one of the best ways to perk up and get in some extra cardio. I try to make it a point to do this on days I know I won’t be at the gym. This is especially a great habit to form if you sit at a desk all day. Waking up 15 minutes early to allow enough time for a quick walk can make all the difference in your health.
Make the Bed
I used to be terrible at this, but as soon as I became a homeowner, making the bed just came as second nature. For me, making the bed is one of the easiest ways to start off your day feeling accomplished! When you get into a routine of making your bed, it becomes more of a habit and less of a task or chore!

I use a checklist with a couple of these on it, in case I wake up in zombie mode I have a healthy habits list to guide me lol. I should definitely add lemon to my morning water!

Yes Dara, I love this! I’ve considered adding bed making to my own morning routine – I feel so peaceful once it’s done! I also like to do downward dog for a couple of minutes (it really stretches out my back!) A bit of EFT tapping, affirmations and mudras are usually thrown into the mix as well 😉

I second the making the bed:) They always say that with that one ‘accomplishment ‘ you’ll be on your way to a more productive day! Great list.

I love taking a walk each morning and afternoon too. I trade a dance party for a walk when the weather is bad.
