Comfort zones are our safe space, and reasonably so, they’re hard to step out of. It seems the older I get, the more I’m wanting to step out of my comfort zone and try something new, but sometimes it’s easier said than done. I know I’m not alone when it comes to working on this! Every time I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone, I’ve never regretted it, so it’s something I want to continue working on. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite adventurous ways to step out of your comfort zone for those of you looking to step out of your safe space too!
ADVENTUROUS WAYS TO STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE
Kick Your Day Off with a Bold Start
Every bold day starts with a first bold choice, and every bold day has a morning! Change up your morning routine. Instead of following the same routine every morning, make it a point to do something different on occasion. This can be as simple as going for a walk or even trying a new coffee. For a unique blend of ground coffee that delivers bold, yet smooth taste, give 1850 Coffee a try! It’s a new premium coffee sold at Target from the makers of Folgers. It will be sure to pep you up for an adventurous day with its coffee shop strength, although not exclusively dark roasted.
Back in 1850, J.A. Folger started something new and innovative to help the prospectors as they sought their fortunes. To this day, 1850 has become the official coffee of bold people fueling original ideas, new commitments, and brave endeavors! How fitting, right!?
Go From Fearful to Actionable
Rather than fearing it, do it! This train of thought is all about expanding your comfort zone and taking action! If something seems scary to you – do it! It’s all about taking action here. Don’t second guess it! It will be that much more rewarding once you’ve faced your fears head on!
Challenge Yourself with Small Acts
One of the easiest ways to get comfortable with stepping out of your comfort zone is through small, yet bold acts. Are you shy? Strike up a convo with a stranger! By regularly doing little things you wouldn’t typically do, you’ll start to create a ‘new’ comfort zone and step out a little more each time. This will lead up to you facing your biggest fear with ease!
Become Comfortable with the Uncomfortable
How is this possible, you may ask? It’s simple – choose something each day that scares you and get out there and do it! Over time, the exposure will get you familiar and comfortable with the uncomfortable.
Don’t Be Afraid to Have Fun
A lot of times, fear just keeps us from having fun! Don’t be afraid to venture out and be bold, you might just find your newest passion while doing so!
Do you often try new adventurous ways to step out of your comfort zone? Share what’s worked for you in the comments so we can all get inspired!

Oh my goodness, this is so timely! Relocating to North Carolina last in 2016 really pushed me outside of my comfort zone because I moved here not knowing a single soul! I think we learn the most about ourselves when we are forced to get still and be quiet. I’ve always heard that there’s no such thing as a comfort zone because comfort zones are uncomfortable! I know that sounds cliche, but I think the entire point of that notion is that comfort zones don’t ever allow us to grow. Great post. Thanks for sharing!

I love this! First of all, that coffee sounds amazing. I also love to push myself; I’m scared of heights so I go skydiving, and I’m scared of being alone so I travel abroad solo. Facing your fears is a fantastic way to grow as a person. 🙂

I’ve never considered “bold” or “adventurous” to be a natural part of my personality, but I definitely don’t want “fearful” to be a part of it either, you know? I like what you said about becoming comfortable with the uncomfortable and gradually expanding your comfort zone. I can look back at who I was a handful of years ago and see that–even though I’m still not bold and adventurous–I’m more bold and adventurous NOW than I was THEN. And I’m proud of that. Thanks for sharing!
