For this mint julep recipe, I chose to keep things simple. Sure, you could go through the extra steps to brew your own tea, but I’m all about simplicity and convenience! Milo’s Tea is a staple in our house, so I chose to use what I already have on hand, and it’s delicious!
Fun Fact: Milo’s has been a southern classic, dating back to 1946 in which it originated as a restaurant in Alabama. By 1989 the owners, no a woman-run business (how awesome!?) Milo’s began selling their tea with the simple philosophy to use high quality, fresh, natural ingredients.
Milo’s Tea is fresh brewed and doesn’t include preservatives or added acid, which is perfect for this mint julep sweet tea cocktail!
It’s available in sweetened with pure cane sugar, no calorie, and unsweet options to suit any dietary needs and preferences. I consider it THE beverage for summer entertaining and get-togethers! I found Milo’s at my local Target in the refrigerated juice section but it is ae available in lots of retailers. I’ve never had a mint julep before, probably because I don’t like bourbon hahaha (Vodka all the way). The sweet tea element to this cocktail really intrigues me, though. Maybe I’ll give it a try! x
