Preparing for a new pet can be a lot of work, and even more so when you already have a full house! When we made the decision to get our new puppy, Charley, we knew it was going to be a lot of work since we already have 2 dogs at home, but we also knew we could handle it. Now we’ve got a full (dog) house of 3, and the humans are officially outnumbered by the dogs, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
When it comes to preparing your home for a new pet, planning and timing are key! In my case, owning three dogs means we’ll need a lot more food, treats, toys, and essentials. Stocking up is the only way to go when it comes to saving money. I first heard of the Purina Save a Fortune event at PetSmart last year, and have been looking forward to it ever since. If you have multiple pets at home, or you’re thinking of adding a new pet to your family soon, you won’t want to miss out on this!
HOW TO SAVE MONEY WHILE PREPARING FOR A NEW PET:
Here’s how it works: From now until 5/31/18, when you purchase $20 of Purina products in a single transaction at PetSmart, you get a $5 PetSmart gift card mailed back to you within 8-10 weeks upon submission. Subsequent purchases can be made on multiple receipts and you can redeem for multiple gift cards for every $20 purchase.
You can register your contact information and receive an entry into a grand prize sweepstakes. You can then upload your receipt on PurinaFortunes.com and upon validation of purchase, you’ll receive notification of your gift with purchase. Play the Paws of Fate game at PurinaFortunes.com to instantly win grand prizes and PetSmart gift cards (no purchase necessary to win)! You can check out the rebate and instant win site here.
Purina Save a Fortune at PetSmart couldn’t have come at a more perfect time for us. I made sure to stock up on Purina® Bella Small Dog Food for Hailey since it’s specifically formulated for small breeds like her, and I also stocked up on some Purina® ONE True Instinct for Deuce. For Charley, I made sure to get plenty of puppy food (puppies eat a ton!) and lots of treats for training. I love how convenient it is to shop for all 3 dogs at PetSmart.
Are you a single or multi-pet family? What will you be stocking up on for your pets!?

Charley is so cute! It is always great to find ways to save money! We have lots of pets (3 dogs, a cat, a rabbit, a tortoise and an aquarium.) PetSmart is a good place to get their supplies.

I wish we had a petsmart closer. Our nearest one is almost two hours away. They always seem to have products for every pet you can think of.

We brought home a goldendoodle in October and it was definitely a huge bank expense at first. We already had a 9 year old beagle who went to the vet once a year and with a puppy you have to take every few weeks in the beginning! This is the food our dog is on so I will definitely be taking advantage of the coupon!

Our pup has always eaten Pro Plan – such great quality food!
