This post on how to get the perfect smile on your wedding day is sponsored by the American Dental Association. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
When you’re the bride, you want everything to go as perfectly as planned. I knew that feeling all too well when I was engaged. I wouldn’t consider myself a bridezilla, but I did tend to overthink and worry about every single thing about my wedding day.
Will the vendors arrive on time? Will the weather be nice? Did I get enough decor? Will the band be fun? Will I reach my weight goal? How will my makeup holdup? Will my teeth be white enough? All of those thoughts ran across my mind many times.
Out of everything, I’d say I was the most concerned about my appearance. I wanted to not only look my best, but feel my best too. I wanted to feel confident as a bride and one day look back and love everything about myself in my wedding photos rather than critique every part. Call me self-conscious if you will, but that’s the honest truth!
When you’re having tons of pictures taken of you, you’re going to want to look your best! Your hair, tan, makeup, body, and smile all become a priority! They’re all important, but today’s post is all about the latter – your smile! Oral health has always been a priority for me, but it became even more so when I was engaged. Again, gotta look better than ever!
With the hundreds to thousands of photos that come along with a wedding and the events leading up to it (engagement photos, bridal photos, etc), there’s no better time than when you’re engaged to perfect your smile.
If you’re anything like I was, then you’re probably trying to go above and beyond to do everything the right way and make sure everything about your day is perfect!
I certainly don’t have a flawless smile, but I did want to make sure I had the best smile possible, for me. Following a healthy routine was key.
If you want to look and feel your best in front of all your guests and in your pictures, then you may be wondering how to get the perfect smile on your wedding day. If so, these recommendations from the American Dental Association (ADA) will sure come in handy. Not engaged? No worries! These are actually great tips for everyone to use daily. I still personally follow these home oral care recommendations every day!
HOW TO GET THE PERFECT SMILE ON YOUR WEDDING DAY
- Brush your teeth twice a day, and consider an electric toothbrush vs. manual depending on your brushing style
- Use a toothpaste with fluoride to strengthen teeth
- Clean between your teeth daily
- Drink fluoridated water
- Use mouth rinse with antimicrobial activity to fight gum disease
- Regularly schedule dentist visits for treatment and prevention of oral disease
- Talk to your dentist before whitening your teeth
Everyone wants that perfect smile, and since each smile is unique, it’s important to note that your oral care needs are just as unique as you are. Be sure to consult with your dentist to create a personalized home oral care routine that works for you.
Not sure which products are best for getting that perfect smile? Simply look for the ADA Seal marked on many oral care brands.

Awe you look BEAUTIFUL!!! And I’m a dental hygiene freak! I brush my teeth AS SOON as I wake up in the morning, so that way I don’t drink the bacteria back down. And I scrape my tongue and floss. Since brushing my teeth before drinking anything my mouth feels SO much better!
