It’s no secret that I have a major sweet tooth! I blame my sweet cravings on my grandmother, who used to always have my favorite desserts waiting at her house for me, and would always take me for a ride to get my favorite milkshake! I remember sitting in her car and waiting in the drive-thru like it was yesterday. Those old-fashioned shakes were the best!
As much as I love milkshakes, I surprisingly have only made them at home a few times. They’re so good, just a tad bit messy in the kitchen, but oh so worth it.
I’ve been on a strawberry kick lately, so I wanted to try my hand at a childhood favorite. This chocolate covered strawberry almond milkshake I’m sharing with y’all today takes the original strawberry milkshake to a whole new level! Can you say yum!?
CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRY ALMOND MILKSHAKE:
Ingredients
– 1 cup of fresh strawberries (I used chocolate covered strawberries – but this is optional)
– 1 cup of strawberry ice cream
– 1/2 cup of ice
– 1/2 cup International Delight® Almond Joy™
– 1 tbs almonds, slivered
– 1 tsp chocolate chips**
– Whipped cream
**Chocolate chips can be added if you are using non-chocolate covered strawberries.
Instructions
Step 1: In a blender, combine ice cream, International Delight® Almond Joy™, ice, strawberries, and almonds then blend.
Step 2: Pour into a chilled glass.
Step 3: Top with whipped cream.
Step 4: Garnish with slivered almonds and chocolate chips.
I enjoy adding hints of my favorite candy in my morning coffee and love the subtle flavor of Almond Joy™, so I’ve been using the International Delight® Almond Joy™ creamer (found at Walmart) and thought it would be the perfect addition to a milkshake too – hence how this recipe came about!
Y’all, I’ve found the secret ingredient to the perfect milkshake and it’s officially creamer!
Creamer is a great ingredient hack for milkshakes because it comes in such a wide variety of flavors! Although I used the Almond Joy flavor for this chocolate covered strawberry almond milkshake recipe, you can easily change it up to your liking with other flavors.
International Delight® REESE’S® Peanut Butter Cup and International Delight® HERSHEY’S® Chocolate Caramel would both taste amazing! Is there a REESE’S® Peanut Butter Cup in your mug? There should be!
