Now that it is starting to get warmer out, I know the breakouts will be back in no time. The harsh heat and humidity here in Louisiana are the perfect recipe for clogged pores. Nobody likes breakouts, including me, so I really try to be more conscious about my skincare routine and habits when I know my skin is most vulnerable.
The following tips for clearer skin are easy, small changes you can make in your skincare routine and habits, and make all the difference. If you’re tying to have clearer skin this summer, give these tips a try!
TIPS FOR CLEARER SKIN
Have a Consistant Cleansing Routine
Having a skincare cleansing routine is key to keeping your skin clear and preventing future blemishes. Consistency is important here, since skipping just one facial washing can lead to a breakout. The type of cleanser you use is also important. Some ingredients, like alcohol and harsh chemicals, can do more harm to your skin than good. Tip: Look for a cleanser without alcohol – ZAPZYT Acne Wash is great for sensitive skin.
Spot Treat Early
Have a breakout? The secret to treating unwanted pimples is all in the timing! Spot treatment at an early onset can shorten the duration of a breakout and prevent acne from forming. You never know when you might have a breakout, so it’s a good idea to always keep a spot treatment on hand!
I love ZAPZYT Acne Treatment Gel for ridding problem zits fast. It’s a water based acne treatment gel that is alcohol-free, unlike other products. Alcohol only irritates and adds redness to an already red and inflamed problem area, so you don’t want a product that does more harm than good. Spot treatment products like ZAPZYT work alongside your skincare products, so you don’t have to change your current beauty regime – just keep the gel on hand for skincare emergencies!
Avoid Touching Your Face
Do you have a habit of touching your face? I know I’m guilty of resting my face in on my hand whenever I’m sitting at my desk working, so I try to be very conscious about this. The truth is hands are full of germs, so touching your face will only create skin issues in the long run!
Always Remove Makeup Before Bedtime
Going to bed without taking off your makeup is one of the worst things you can do! If you want to prevent blemishes, you need to let your skin breath! Going to bed with a full face of makeup will only clog your pores and trap unwanted dirt and oil which will can later cause acne.
Use a Facial Brush for a Deeper Clean
Gentle facial cleansing brushes can get deep down into pores for a better clean, so these are great to use if you want clearer skin or need to exfoliate. If you have sensitive skin, it may be better for you to do a deep clean with a brush once a day as opposed to 2-3 times. Sometimes over exfoliating and cleaning can irritate skin, so just do what you feel is best for your face.

This sounds like a great product. I’ve been getting a few pop-up zits lately – ugh! I also need to stop touching my face – I seem to put my chin in my hands a lot!

I’m so bad about my hands on my face when I’m at my desk. I do it without even realizing it.

These are great tips! I’m still working on remembering to always remove my makeup before bed and having a consistent routine. Both are so important for skincare.
