This post on how to get summer hair with SunIn has been sponsored by the PRIMP Network. All opinions are my own.
Before we know it, summer will be here and it will be time to beach it up! Growing up in the south and being so close to the Gulf Coast has made me love the beach! I can’t think of a better way to spend the summer than at the beach. I’m definitely a ‘beach vacation’ type of person before anything. I love everything about it – the relaxation, the waves, summer fashion, a tan, and getting those fabulous sun-kissed natural highlights that come along with it.
I’ve been wearing my hair balayage style for several years now and I can’t seem to get enough of it. I always go lighter and lighter with the color too! I love balayage since it’s relatively low maintenance, which is my kind of style! I literally only go twice a year to keep it up!
I’ve been playing around with a recently discovered childhood favorite, SunIn, and let me just say I wish I would have rediscovered it sooner! Y’all, I was obsessed with this stuff as a kid! Now I’m just as obsessed because I realized it’s a great way to keep my hair light enough to my liking and hold me over in-between hair appointments. It’s so easy and I can do it at home!
I wouldn’t dare mess with any type of boxed hair dye – lord knows that would be a royal mess up on my part – but SunIn gets my approval! Have y’all tried it!? Or let me rephrase that – have y’all tried it since your childhood (what kid didn’t use this stuff)!?
I’ll detail how it works below!
HOW TO USE SUNIN TO GET SUMMER HAIR
For All Over Lightening:
Spray generously into damp hair and comb through to evenly distribute, then dry.
For a Sun-Steaked Look:
Spray the individual strands you want highlighted, then dry.
SUNIN APPLICATION TIPS
*SunIn is heat activated, so you can either spray it and then spend some time in the sun, or dry your hair with a hair dryer.
*You can repeat the process until you achieve your desired look.
*SunIn is recommended for natural blonde to medium brown non color-treated hair. Be cautious of reddish results if you have darker hair!
SunIn is alcohol free and includes botanical extracts and special illuminators that give hair an extra dose of shine so you don’t have to worry about it damaging your hair. It gives you the same natural highlights you get from the sun – only faster! Want to give it a try? You can get it here.

As a kid, I can remember my mom spraying leave-in conditioner and a vinegar/water mix in my hair. My hair would have natural highlights in it over the summer. My mom sprayed the vinegar mix in my hair to prevent head lice when that was a big issue.

I need to give Sun In a try! I miss having the blonde highlighted hair I would get from being outside all summer long, so I love that there’s a product that can help with that 🙂
