With winter upon us, so is cold + flu season. One of the most dreaded things to do when you’re sick is have to sit in the waiting room of a doctor’s office, even when you have an appointment, only to be seen nearly an hour later – if you’re lucky! I literally dread it, but really, who doesn’t!? That may explain why I’ve been using online doctors more often, and why this type of service in general has gotten increasingly popular.
If you aren’t already familiar, allow me to introduce you to quite possibly one of the best and most convenient things ever – an Amwell online doctor!
Where has this been all our lives!? Bless you, technology!
The Benefits of Using a Telehealth Doctor
When the funky flu and allergy season is at its peak, a doctor on the go couldn’t be more convenient!
Have you heard of Amwell before!? They’re the nation’s largest telehealth company that connects you with board-certified licensed doctors ranging from primary care and specialist physicians, licensed behavioral therapists, and registered dietitians to meet your health and wellness needs for immediate care.
Imagine getting an immediate appointment online from your phone or computer without ever having to wait in an office room again. With Amwell you can do just that!
They’re available 24 hours, all within the comfort of your home or wherever you are on the go!

Amwell Urgent Care Services
The process is very quick and simple and the app is very organized and straight forward. Upon logging in you can see a list of services available, as well as the physicians that are available to you and their background. Amwell offers urgent care in the comfort of your own home to treat a variety of common ailments, such as:
- Fever
- Cold & flu
- Allergies
- Sinus infections
- Stomach bugs
- Travel
- Pediatrics
- Rashes
- UTI
If you have health and wellness concerns, a telehealth urgent care appointment may be the best option for you.
In under 30 minutes you can consult with a physician and get the proper care and information you need. That could easily be a 2 hour+ process at a doctor’s office. Instead, you can get the same results from the comfort of your couch! With a busy schedule and no extra time in the day, it really can’t get more convenient than this!
Surely there’s still a time and place for when you may need a full physical in-person exam, but you know your body best and know when to take the next step. This type of service is not a replacement for emergency situations!
I’ve been taking advantage of telehealth on the go for over a year now and have been so pleased with every experience.
I’ve been able to save so much time and energy all while getting the proper treatment needed out of the comfort from my home.
The flu is known to make its rounds viciously all across the state of Louisiana. When I start to feel like I am coming down with a cold, I don’t wait or take any chances. Instead, I use my telehealth app! Since I don’t like sitting in waiting rooms and potentially getting exposed to more germs, this is the best option for me!

This is incredible! I’m immunosuppressed, so I often self-medicate during flu season and just hope for the best, because I know if I visit the doctor’s office, I’ll leave ten times sicker than I started. I’ve been wanting to meet with a dietician, and this seems like a really good way to do that. Thank you for the recommendation!

I hate having to go to the doctor during flu season so being able to get an online doctor visit at home sounds perfect. There is no need to sit in a germ filled office when I don’t have to!

I am obsessed with health tech. I’m glad the US is starting to adopt practices of others countries and finding ways to cut down on trekking to the doctor’s office.
