Spring is in full swing and summer is just around the corner, bringing many beautiful opportunities to get out and enjoy the day with your dog. If you’re looking for some spring and summer fun inspiration for you and your pet, then you’ve come to the right place!
Louisiana has many dog friendly activities to offer, so today I’m rounding up some ideas for things to do with your dog in Louisiana, which I personally enjoy doing with my dogs and think you will too!
FUN THINGS TO DO WITH YOUR DOG IN LOUISIANA:
1. Go Camping
If you’ve never gone camping with your dog, you’re missing out! Whether it be more on the glamping side, or straight up roughing it tent style, camping is a fun way to bond with your pet and the outdoors. Louisiana has many camp sites to choose from, but my personal recommendation would have to be Fontainebleau State Park on the North Shore, which is just a short drive from New Orleans. Check out this list for more Louisiana State Parks.
2. Visit a Park
One thing Louisiana doesn’t have a shortage of is parks, and that includes both dog and human parks! If you’re in the Baton Rouge area, consider checking out the large Burbank Dog Park. If you’re in the New Orleans area, City Park is a lovely picturesque option for all.
3. Grab a Drink
Did you know you could celebrate happy hour with your dog!? If not, well now you know! If large dog friendly patios and endless beer options sound like your thing, then a visit to The Bulldog, with locations in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, needs to be on your to do list!
4. Tour the French Quarter
There’s no place quite like the French Quarter that can offer such a great variety of food, culture, and history. You can make an entire day out of just walking around the Quarter, so next time you’re headed that way, don’t forget to bring your dog too!
5. Go Shopping
Some pets love shopping just as much as their humans! The next time you’re out running errands for pet supplies, bring your dog along for the ride because there are many pet friendly places for them to visit! Tractor Supply Co.® is a pet friendly store that comes to mind and shopping there for your pets just got better! They now carry more of your favorite Purina® products, which means a larger selection of Purina ONE Dog, Purina Pro Plan, Purina Cat Chow, Fancy Feast and Kit N Caboodle, making it a one-stop-shop for all your dog food and pet needs. Follow Purina and Tractor Supply Co. on Facebook for up-to-date information. What’s your favorite way to spend time with your dog?
Do you have anything you’d like to add to this list of things to do wth your dog in Louisiana? Share your ideas below!
