Wow, this year is just moving right along! I’m ready to take on March with a full reset! February was fun, especially with all the Mardi Gras shenanigans, but to say I need a bit of a reset would be an understatement. I feel like my body has been running off of king cake for the past few weeks, which is partially true! That definitely doesn’t help me get closer to any sort of bikini body, which was a goal for last month, so let’s try this again! Here are my March goals I’m working towards:
1. Cut back back on the sugar
King cake and Mardi Gras, need I say more!? It’s time for a major detox from the sugar over here. This is going to be tough because I literally wake up craving sweets.
2. Get back to working out regularly
Working out definitely took the back burner in February since I spent most of the month battling a sinus infection and a cold relapse which left me feeling terrible and weak more often than not. The good news is I finally feel like I’ve kicked that nasty bug and I’m getting my energy back. No more excuses, although I did have a valid one!
3. Cook more at home
We haven’t been cooking at home nearly as much as I’d like, so we could definitely use some work here. I usually like to limit restaurant food to only the weekends (let’s be honest, I could never give that up completely), but these middle of the week to-go orders can chill out a bit.
4. Start counting calories again
I don’t know what happened, but I didn’t open the My Fitness Pal app one time during the month of February. That’s pathetic and embarrassing on my part, so go ahead and judge me for that- I need to be shamed! I need to start counting calories again. Everything is so much easier with a food journal. I’m thinking this will help persuade me to cook more at home too, since it’s nearly impossible to log meals from restaurants.
5. Spend more time outside
I love spending time outside, especially when the weather is nice. Last weekend Chris and I visited a local state park for the first time and walked a nature trail. It was so nice. I want to make it a point to do more things like this, such as walking, biking, etc, especially now while it’s still pleasant outside before the dreaded heat and summer humidity kick in!
Looking back, there seems to be a pattern here. I guess I’m mostly focused on working on my health this month and that’s never a bad thing!
What are your March goals? Are you working towards achieving anything specific?

I am absolutely working towards my goals! I love that you are setting yours each month. That is so important to start living a life you love (even when you don’t always achieve them). Good luck on the sugar thing. That’s a hard one for me too!

Same on the working out! I was so busy in February that I didn’t make myself go, so I’m trying to get back on that routine! And now that the weather will be beautiful again, I’ll have to try and get some fresh air!

Your blog is so cute! I can’t wait to spend more time outside as well and be able to do my runs outside of the gym.
