The holidays are my favorite time to get creative in the kitchen. With all the entertaining going on, I love trying new recipes and recreating old favorites. One of my favorite go-to recipes this time of year is my southern pecan praline dip. It’s my personal take on a Louisiana favorite, the praline, turned into a creamy dip!
What You Need:
– 1 cup chopped pecans
– 1 cup packed brown sugar
– 1 cup plain greek yogurt
– 1/2 cup butter
– 1/2 cup half-and-half
– 3/4 cup milk
– 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
– 1 box of white cake mix
What You Do:
1. Preheat oven to 350. Place chopped pecans on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
2. In a medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, half-and-half, butter, and vanilla and stir over medium heat, then bring to a boil for 1 minute. Add in pecans. Set aside and let cool. This is your praline sauce!
3. In a separate mixing bowl, combine cake mix (don’t add egg or water as instructed on the box), milk, and greek yogurt and whip together.
4. After praline sauce has cooled, pour over the cake batter mixture and mix together.
5. Serve the pecan praline dip with your favorite dipping chip. I recommend Dark Chocolate Wavy Lay’s for a decadent taste!
For a limited time at Target, Lay’s Wavy chocolate covered potato chips are back! They come in three delicious flavors: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and a new milk chocolate covered with almond bits. They all taste heavenly paired with this southern pecan praline dip! If you like sweet with a hint of salty, you’ve got to try this combination!
You can find them in the holiday section of Target, where all of the other seasonal goodies are!
