With a busy lifestyle, it sometimes seems impossible to stay organized. I personally wouldn’t be able to get anything done and would forget important deadlines if I didn’t have some sort of organization in my life, and I’m sure many others would say the same. I find it helps to have a system and everything in one place, especially since we live in a digital age and the balance between electronic data and important information on paper can easily get lost in translation. It’s so easy to get side tracked, so I’ve partnered with Pilot Pen to share some organization tips that have worked well for me in the past and can help you too.
1. Use a planner and write everything down
One of the best things you can do to stay organized is use a planner, create a to-do list, and write everything down. If you’re the pen and paper type, a basic agenda styled planner will work great. To avoid forgetting anything important, just make sure you write everything down as opposed to making mental notes. You’ll be glad you did once your schedule gets busy.
2. Keep an ongoing notepad on your phone
As much as I love pen and paper, I can’t even begin to tell you how much more I love having a digital copy of to-do lists and deadlines on my phone. When you get in the habit of saving important information to your phone, you’ll always have it on hand. You’re more likely to forget your planner at home, but let’s be real, how often do you actually forget to grab your phone? Probably never!
3. Use cloud based sharing
Using cloud based sharing is one of the most useful organization tips I’ve ever heard! Cloud based tools like calendars, notepads, word documents, and spreadsheets are a godsend! When you have everything in the cloud, you’ll always have everything you need within reach. You’ll never have to worry about leaving something behind and you can easily share these important documents with anybody. Best of all, when you use the cloud, it can also push your information between devices like your phone and computer so everything is always connected and up to date.
4. Color coordinate
It helps to have some sort of color coding system in your planner to differentiate between personal and work life. Color coding is perfect for the overachiever! Pilot G2 works great for this since they come in so many different colors and are the longest lasting gel ink pen. Pilot Pen gel ink is formulated using pigments instead of dyes which creates vibrant colors. Take 20% off all G2 products with code G2SWAY until 12/31/16.
5. Have dedicated spaces
Being consistent and having dedicated spaces for certain types of information will keep you organized. For example, keep all your to-do lists in one place, and all of your important documents in another. Don’t create to-do lists in different notepads each day to avoid confusion.
Do you struggle with staying organized? Do you have any organization tips that have worked well for you?

Yes to all of this! I’m the type of person that if I don’t write it down, it’s not going to happen! So I love my planner and now also my bullet journal. 🙂 And these have been my favorite pens for so many years!
