It’s football season, so you know what that means! It’s time for all the football parties and tailgating! Down here in Louisiana, football is not just a sport or season, it’s a way of life and to say we take our games and tailgating seriously would be an understatement! I know we’re not the only ones that feel that way though!
If you love football and the parties that go along with it, then today you’ve come to the right place because I’m sharing this hard to put down mocha cake batter dip recipe that’s sure to be a huge hit at any party! I’ve also got you covered on the quick and easy part like always. This dip can be made in under 5 minutes!
Mocha Cake Batter Dip Ingredients:
– 1 package of chocolate cake mix
– 1 cup of plain greek yogurt
– 3/4 cup of milk
– 1/4 cup of dark roast coffee
– Toppings as desired (nuts, sprinkles, etc.)
How to Make Mocha Cake Batter Dip:
1. In a large mixing bowl, pour in the dry chocolate cake mix (do not add egg or oil as if you were making a cake).
2. Brew your favorite cup of coffee (I like to keep it local per tradition, so my go-to is Community Coffee!) and set aside to let cool.
3. Combine milk, coffee (once cooled), and yogurt into the cake mix and stir until the mocha cake batter dip becomes a whipped and creamy consistency.
4. Serve mocha cake batter dip with strawberries and pretzel crips for dipping, or your favorite snack.
5. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator.
Every year during football season I make this mocha cake batter dip for football parties and it’s the first thing to go! Thankfully it’s super easy to make so you can either whip up a few batches at a time or do so as needed. It won’t last long once your friends try it!
You can make this without the coffee by subbing an extra 1/4 cup of milk in place of the coffee, but in my opinion the coffee infusion gives it a nice and subtle mocha flavor. If you do make it with coffee, be sure to use a dark roast for the best flavor! Community® Coffee is a local favorite around here (found in grocery stores throughout the Southwest region or online), so it’s my go-to. The brand is family-owned, has been around for 97 years, and has yet to disappoint with their premium Arabica coffee beans!
In celebration of football and tailgating season, Community® Coffee is partnering with Southwest Airlines® for its annual Tailgate Traditions sweepstakes. Fans will have a chance to win an all expense paid trip to Houston for the Big Game plus a $1,000 gift card, coffee brewer, one-year supply of Community® Coffee, along with over 500 instant win prizes.
To enter, purchase specially marked packages of Community® Coffee with a Tailgate Traditions on-pack sticker. The sticker contains a unique game code that you can enter online at TailgateTraditions.com for your chance to win!
