Wedding planning can be one of the best times and also one of the most stressful times. To keep the wedding planning process as enjoyable as possible, organization is key. There’s a lot that goes into putting together the big day, so anything that can make the process easier is always a plus. These wedding planning organization tips will help do just that, so if you’re a bride-to-be, keep these organization tips in mind as you plan your wedding!
1. Create a timeline
First up, if you want to be the wedding planning organization queen, you need to set a timeline! This will save you many hair pulls! When setting your timeline, be realistic and space things out in a doable manner. Don’t try to do everything at once, you’ll only regret it! If you take it one step at a time and follow your set timeline and these organization tips, you’ll be the best organized bride!
2. Setup a separate wedding email address
Before you start contacting vendors, I highly recommend you setup a separate email address specifically for wedding stuff. By doing this, your personal inbox won’t get clogged with countless vendor emails and you’ll have everything you need all in one place, making it super easy to sort though.
3. Create a separate folder for inspiration
Before you start booking vendors, you’ll want to have an idea of your vision for the big day first. Pinterest and wedding magazines are great resources for this. As you find stuff you like, print or pull the pages out and keep everything in a dedicated inspiration folder that you can go back and reference.
4. Use an organization binder
An organization binder is one of the best things to use to stay organized. With a binder, you can easily add and remove pages as needed, unlike a notebook. It’s easy to stay organized if you divide the binder up in tabs for the main areas such as the budget, checklist, ceremony, reception, wedding party, photography, honeymoon, etc. This will serve as a go to hub for important information such as contracts, vendor contact information, seating charts, etc.
5. Keep a digital copy of everything
While you should always have a physical copy of everything, you should also keep a digital copy of all your wedding information as well. Google Drive comes in handy for this. By keeping a digital copy, you’ll have important up to date information at your access whether you’re at home or on the go. This is especially helpful when you may need to see your budget, to do list, vendor contacts, the guest list, or addresses and don’t have your wedding binder on hand.
6. Store all resources in one spot
Be sure to keep physical planning resources like organization binders, planners, magazines, and inspiration folders all in one spot! Doing so will keep you organized and you’ll never have to worry about misplacing anything. It’s also a good idea to keep your wedding planning resources in an easily accessible unhidden spot since you’ll be referencing them often during your engagement. These Creative Options project boxes are great for wedding planning organization. When I came across these Creative Options project boxes at Hobby Lobby, I knew they would be perfect for wedding planning organization since I have more magazines I can count and quite a few books and binders.
The size is perfect! These project boxes are large enough to fit a standard sized binder, and maybe even two! I use these to store my binder, inspiration folder, planner, magazines, dress swatches, save the date cards and envelopes, vendor business cards, and literally everything else I need for planning my wedding! It’s been so easy to stay organized with everything in one place, so I couldn’t recommend these enough!

I’m a wedding planner, and I couldn’t agree more with the separate email address. You will get so much spam email as a bride! I always recommend using a wedding specific email to keep everything organized. Great tips!

I’ve got my binder all organized but I definitely should have used a separate email address for all the vendors! That would have been so much easier to keep straight! Great tips!
