I’m not a morning person. I never have been, but I’m hoping some day I will be. I do think I’ve been getting better at my morning routine the older I get though, and I’ve slowly figured out the best morning routine for me. I’ve realized that the less rushed and more organized my mornings are, the better the rest of my day is. That’s a proven fact! Over the years, I’ve been transitioning myself into becoming a morning person by making small changes to my morning routine that have made all the difference in various aspects of my life. If you’re trying to do the same, you may want to consider these 5 things to incorporate into your morning routine too. They just might make your day feel a little less stressful and more put together!
1. Warm lemon water
If you’re not a morning person, chances are you’re already running late the minute you wake up (probably because you hit the snooze button too many times) and you don’t have time to give your body what it actually needs. It’s never too late to change that though! Drinking a glass of warm lemon water as soon as you wake up is one of the best things you can do for your body since it detoxifies and aids in digestion. You should definitely consider this if you want the best morning routine and benefits!2. Morning workouts
They say it takes 3 weeks for something to become a routine. Those 3 weeks may not feel easy at first, but they’ll definitely be worth it. Once you get into the swing of things, you’ll be thankful for starting your day off with a workout as it will provide a boost in energy throughout the rest of the day. Bonus points for not having the chance to make excuses as to why you can’t make it to the gym in the evening since it will already be done!
3. 15 minutes for yourself
Want to have the best morning routine possible? Take 15 minutes for yourself. Whether those 15 minutes are spent sitting down to enjoy a heart healthy breakfast, read a book, create a to-do list, check social media, or watch tv, those minutes to yourself will make all the difference when you have a busy schedule ahead.
4. List of goals and priorities
We all have busy schedules and the morning is a great time to prioritize any goals that you wish to accomplish before the crazy day unfolds. If you wait until later to do this, you may end up forgetting something important, so it’s always better to have your day mapped out ahead of time.
5. Healthy breakfast
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but somewhere along the way, I think many of us have forgotten this fact. We’re all so busy that we tend to either not eat breakfast or just grab something ready to eat that may seem more convenient from the drive through. The truth is there are so many better for you options sitting right in your pantry that are also ready to eat and are not time consuming. My personal favorite lately has been Multi Grain Cheerios with Ancient Grains since it’s a low fat option packed with many vitamins and minerals. The Ancient Grains Cheerios have more heart healthy ingredients to love, like quinoa, wheat, spelt, and KAMUT, making them the perfect balanced breakfast I’ll be keeping in my morning routine. They’re exclusive to Sam’s Club, so if you’re looking to get your hands on some too, that’s where you’ll find them!
Are you a morning person? If so, what has helped you have the best morning routine? If you’re not a morning person, consider incorporating these 5 things into your morning routine. It will make all the difference!
Thank you Cheerios for sponsoring this post. All opinions are my own!

I always get this huge energy boost when I work out in the morning but I struggle with getting myself out of bed to actually go and work out. If I do it I love it but getting up to do it is SO hard. 🙁

Adding a workout to my morning was a game changer, I can’t agree more. I always felt better and slept better at night too.

I’ve been hearing a lot about the warm lemon water. Usually coffee is the first thing I grab in the morning, but I need to consider switching it up!

I’ve gotten out of my morning routine and I miss it! It’s so peaceful in the morning when you wake up before everyone else.

My morning routine is all about ‘me’ time since the boyfriend sleeps late! I always make coffee, watch the news, eat breakfast, and play with my cat. It’s great to have some quiet time before heading into my super stressful office!

I am so not a morning person either. Trying to get myself motivated to get up and get ready takes time. I have tried waking up early to work out and i didn’t stick with it. I’d much rather sleep in and then workout at night. I always eat breakfast in the mornings. It’s a habit for me. All great tips!

I really need a better morning routine. Mine includes: wake up on time, hit snooze, wake up late, rush rush rush, take too long getting ready, forget to plan breakfast or coffee, stop for breakfast or coffee, be waaaay too late to work. It’s not good.

I love the idea of starting the day with a list of goals. I usually have a running to do list, but this seems more intentional. Going to give it a try!

Great tips! I’m really working on getting up earlier and having a set morning routine. I try to sit down at my workspace and give myself a mental picture of what needs to be done but I think having a daily to-do list would help!
