I’ve never been more motivated to lose weight than now! Since I’m getting married, the pressure is on to look my best in my dress, and so I can feel my best too. Sometimes it just takes one thing to push you to where you need to go, and for me, it has been my wedding. I’d be lying if I said that was the only thing though. Since I’m not getting any younger and my college metabolism has officially left the building, I knew I had to make some changes. In fact, I was able to kickstart weight loss and lose 10 pounds without even really trying. Just small changes here and there started to make all the difference. Whether you’re trying to lose 3 pounds or 30, these 5 ways to kickstart weight loss will help get you there.
1. Set aside 15 minutes for daily activity
While 30 minutes of daily cardio is ideal, you may not be ready to jump right in just yet and that’s okay! Kickstart weight loss by starting small and dedicating at least 15 minutes of activity into your day. This can be anything, from walking the dog to going on a bike ride! If you find something you already enjoy, it won’t feel like a dreaded workout!
2. Eat small healthy snacks between meals
When you find yourself hungry between meals, don’t grab the first thing in sight! Make sure it’s something healthy, like fruit, veggies, or a protein bar. Having these healthy snacks on hand will help eliminate any temptation you may have, and will also hold you over so you’re not tempted to over eat come meal time.
3. Drink more water
Water is so beneficial, especially for your digestive system. Consider starting your day off with a glass of warm lemon water to flush out toxins and kickstart your metabolism. Throughout the day, make sure you are intaking at least 8 glass of water. It also won’t hurt to drink a glass of water 20 minutes before a meal, which will fill you up and stop you from over eating.
4. Practice portion control
If you want to kickstart weight loss, portion control is key! Two of my favorite tricks I’ve learned along the way are to use smaller plates and pre-portion out my snacks and meals. The smaller plates trick is genius! Naturally we tend to fill our entire plate when making a meal, so the smaller the plate, the less food you fill! You’ll be tricking your mind and gut into thinking otherwise!
5. Add more fiber to your diet
The great thing about fiber is it’s one of the only things that will make you feel full without adding in extra calories! Incorporating fiber into your diet will help kickstart weight loss and prevent you from feeling hungry all the time. I’ve added Meta Appetite Control into my daily routine to do just that! It’s the the #1 doctor recommended fiber brand with 100% natural fiber to help you reduce your appetite between meals.
So how exactly does this work? Well, it’s simple really! Meta Appetite Control is a powdered fiber that is intended to be added into a glass of water. With every serving, the psyllium fiber in the powder thickens and forms a gel, which aids in the sensation of fullness as you drink it. It reduces your appetite up to four hours, so I like to take it between meals to keep me full!

Drinking lots of water is a big one. Most people don’t realize that hungry signals can actually be thirst signals!

Making you drink enough water is a big key; most of us don’t realize how many calories we drink. Also, having a plan for the day helps , so you’re not grabbing the first thing that looks good for dinner because you’re starving and didn’t think ahead.
