Is it just me, or does this month already feel like it’s full of so much stuff to do with so little time!? Per usual, wedding planning has been keeping me busy and consuming about 80% of my thoughts these days. The other 20% is a whole bunch of random life things I’ve been putting off. On the plus side, it’s my birthday month, so that’s always exciting!! Here’s what needs to happen this month:
1. Finalize wedding vendors
We pretty much have majority of our major vendors chosen for the wedding (with the exception of cake, flowers, officiant, and decor), so now it’s just matter of finalizing a few contracts. Fun side note: Chris and I made the last minute decision to go with a band instead of a DJ and we couldn’t be more excited!
2. Research honeymoon excursions
Yes, that’s right!! Our honey is booked!! When researching places, Chris and I really wanted a modern adults only resort that was all inclusive with a nice beach, so we’re going to….. Playa Mujeres! We know several people that have been and had nothing but great things to say about the resort we’re staying at, so now we’re just counting down the days! While we’re there, I’d really like to go snorkeling (I snorkeled once during our trip to St. Croix and it was amazing) and I also want to check off a lifelong bucket list item- horseback riding on the beach!
3. Clean out my closet
I’m ashamed to admit this, but it’s been well over a year since I’ve cleaned out my closet. I’m pretty sure I have more clothes that I don’t wear than I do wear, so those need to go! I also have a lot of handbags and shoes I never use either, so those need to go too! Some are still valuable, so I’ll be selling online. Extra cash is always a plus when you’re trying to plan a wedding, and ThredUP couldn’t make it more easier to purge your closet!
4. Get a passport
I’ve never had a passport before! Yikes! The two most foreign places I’ve been (Bahamas, St. Croix) didn’t require one, so it just never happened! I’ll definitely be needing one for our honeymoon though, so it looks like this girl will be setting aside some time to hang out in line at the post office. Hopefully it won’t be too long!
5. Continue to try healthy foods
One of my goals for 2016 was to start eating better for an overall healthier lifestyle. This means substituting foods for healthier alternatives and eating more veggies. Last week I really branched out (y’all, I’m the pickiest eater ever, so this is huge for me!!) and tried zoodles for the first time! I’ve never had zucchini before, but was surprised at how much I didn’t mind it. As soon as my veggie spiralizer came in, I made zoodle shrimp scampi and it’s definitely something I’ll be putting into our weekly menu rotation from now on.
What are your May goals?

I’ve tried ThredUp a couple of times and I love the quality of the clothes. Good luck with your May goals! I wish you the best of luck.

Cleaning the closet is the worst! I feel ya!
I am also always looking for healthier options and I am now obsessed with quinoa with asparagus and an over easy egg topped with avocado. Best breakfast ever!

How exciting that you’re in the final stages of wedding planning! And yay for booking your honeymoon! My honeymoon was definitely one of my favorite parts of getting married and totally necessary after all the stress. 🙂

Such fun may goals!! I’m in the process of moving I just discovered threadup before I used vinted which works but thread up is so much easier. It’s become my closet hero. Congrats on being on top of your wedding planning.

Your post just reminded me that I really need to do my own closet purge and sell the pile of stuff that I’ve already tagged to get rid of. New passport for you – how exciting!

I find the more I eat vegetables the easier it is to make healthy choices. Once you start making it part of your regular routine, it gets easier. Great list of goals!

Sounds like lots to keep you busy this month! The Passport process isn’t terrible but if you can make an appointment ahead of time, try to! The lines can get pretty long otherwise!

Goals are so important. Good luck with all of your wedding stuff, I know it can be a lot. Also I love trying new healthy substitutions. Its wonderful eating spaghetti and meatballs with turkey and zoodles and still loving it so much but knowing it’s not as bad for me
