Last weekend Chris and I headed to New Orleans for a weekend full of wedding planning festivities. We also had our engagement photo shoot, so I thought it would be fun to give y’all a little sneak peek. Our photographer snuck in a quick iPhone photo during the shoot and sent me this after it was over and now I’m even more excited to see all of our photos! I’ll be sharing some of my favorites in the next few weeks once I receive them, so be sure to check back if you’re interested in seeing them. In the meantime, here’s a little idea of what it’s all like via my superb iPhone selfie skills.
One thing I knew for sure was I wanted a very southern setting, full of old oaks and draping moss, and needless to say, I got exactly what I wanted! We took our photos in New Orleans City Park, where the mossy oaks definitely don’t disappoint. In true New Orleans fashion, we also got to witness a wedding second line take place, which is now making me anticipate ours even more!
Aren’t those trees gorgeous!? It’s one of my favorite things about the south. After we wrapped up our shoot in City Park, we also headed to the French Quarter to get a few classics. I should have those in a few weeks.
Aside from the engagement shoot, I also checked a few other things off the to-do list. My wedding dress came in and it couldn’t have been more perfect timing with me being in town. I now officially have my dress in my possession!
We also did a cake tasting and met with the baker to go over all the details of our cakes. We settled on not one, but four different flavors and I may or may not be day dreaming about getting to eat it when our wedding day finally comes. The 4 flavors that made the cut are almond amaretto, strawberry buttercream, chocolate with hazelnut frangelico, and chocolate with espresso and Bailey’s. Holy. Yum.
If there’s such a thing as a professional wedding cake taster, sign me up!
