TGIF! We made it through the week, slowly but surely! All I’ve got to say is I’m glad it’s a long holiday weekend! It’s safe to say my brain checked out from blogging earlier this week when I arrived in New Orleans and because it’s been a while since I’ve just rambled around here, today I’m going to do just that. There are several different things going on that I’m really excited about, so in true blogger fashion, I’m going to share all the details with the world.
1. Crawfish boils. So I may or may not have been dreaming about this for months now and decided to make a trip to Louisiana mainly for crawfish. Piece of advice: if you ever want to win a Louisianian over, just say there’s crawfish and they’re in. It’s really that simple. I also don’t know how to celebrate Easter in any other way than a crawfish boil, so that’s what I’ll be doing!
2. Bridesmaid dress shopping! All 6 of my bridesmaids are spread out between 4 different states, so to say it’s a bit difficult to coordinate things is an understatement! Thankfully the timing worked out so I can meet up with a few of them to shop for dresses this weekend and I’m so excited! I know what color I want their dresses to be, but I’m trying to keep an open mind with the rest of it. I’m torn on whether or not I want them to have a strapless dress, especially since I’m not even sure if I’m going to keep my dress strapless or not, so we’ll see how that goes. Would it be too matchy matchy and take away from my dress if both had the same type of straps? Let me know what you think please!
3. Spring shopping. Don’t get me wrong, I’m always down for a shopping trip, but with all the cute spring outfits out in stores lately, my urge to shop is at a whole new level. I’m usually not one to obsess over shoes, but I’m starting to think that’s not so true anymore considering I’ve purchased about 10 different pairs in the past week. They were half off, so basically it wasn’t my fault! Ps- if you haven’t yet, you need to take advantage of the sales at Target and Old Navy. They have the cutest sandals out right now and the prices are a steal! My top picks are here, here, and here! Needless to say, I’m excited to stock up on some more spring outfits!
Is there anything you’re looking forward to!? I hope you have a great Easter weekend!

Sounds like an amazing weekend!
Since you asked, I’ll give my opinion on the bridesmaids/your dress straps question! I know someone who recently got married and her bridesmaids wore gorgeous floor length strapless dresses with a sweetheart neckline in blush. They were great! Until you saw pictures of the bride with her bridesmaids… her dress had more pizazz and embellishments, but it was also a floor length strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline. In pictures they honestly looked like the same dress in just different colors and so I don’t think she stood out in pictures as much as the bride should! If the bridesmaids dresses had been darker, or the body of the dress had been a different fit, it would have been different. But it’s definitely something to keep in mind!!

Sounds like an amazing weekend you have planned! YAY for Easter, crawfish boils, bridesmaids dress shopping, and all the spring clothes. Those Ansley and Kensley sandals are gorgeous! I’m thinking, Yes Please?!?
When it comes to bridesmaids dresses, I don’t think it’s too matchy matchy to have the straps. You’ll find something that’s perfect, I just know it! Have fun! I wish I could do it again!

I’m the matron of honor in a wedding, and the bride really wants us to have the same dress cut (she is wearing a strapless sweetheart & she wants strapless sweetheart bridesmaid dresses). I think it’s a popular trend right now to match the bride. 🙂 Hope you have fun at the crawfish boil and bridesmaid dress shopping!

My bridesmaids dresses are navy and I’m letting them chose between strapless, one shoulder and straps. My dress is strapless too but I don’t think it’s going to take away from mine because mine has a lot of embellishments and of course the color of theirs is dark so it wont look anything like mine. I think it really just depends. Have a fun weekend 🙂
xoxo, Jenny
