We live and breathe football in our house. There’s not a game that goes unseen and a chance to celebrate that goes uncelebrated! We usually throw a homegating tailgate party for the playoffs and the Big Game where we bring the party to our home rather than the stadium. It’s a day filled with ongoing fun, food, and football. If you’re planning on having a football party this year, consider these Big Game homegating must haves to make the most of your day:
1. Football themed desserts
The possibilities are endless when it comes down to using your desserts as decor. You’ll want something sweet to go with all the wings, pizza, and dips anyway! These sweet + salty chocolate covered football chips I made last year are easy to do and fit perfectly with a football theme.
2. Yard Games
Like a traditional tailgate, you’ll want your homegate to have the classics like corn hole, horseshoe, etc. You can easily set up an area outside for yard games and even a table with some fingers foods.
3. Dips and finger foods
Dips are great pairings for football watching since they can feed plenty and can last throughout the game since you tend to eat it more slowly. Pinterest is full of tasty buffalo dips, taco dips, and more, but if you’re looking for something different and sweet, try this Snickers blitz dip!
4. Indoor Games
You can take it up a notch with a friendly bet between friends to make the game more interesting. If you’re a fan of watching the commercials, then you may want to play commercial bingo!
5. Pizza!
It wouldn’t be a Big Game party without the pizza, right!? There are plenty of wrong calls made during football season, but there’s one thing you can always count on as the right call to make on game day- pizza!
A home baked pizza helps you get the most out of game day. DIGIORNO Original Rising Crust pepperoni pizza bakes up hot and fresh in your own oven so you can enjoy the moments with your friends. With dough that rises to crust perfection, toppings you can’t get enough of and a mouthwatering aroma you’ll crave, DIGIORNO pizza comes out of your oven ready to serve in about 20 minutes. Your hungry friends will thank you!

Dips always draw me–at any party, you can pretty much find me standing in close proximity to whatever dip is available at the moment.

My favorite thing about any game day is the food! I’m not that into football and other sports like that, so the food is a nice compensation for getting through listening to everyone else talk about it lol XD
