Knock on wood, but ever since I started using more natural cold remedies and prevention supplements, I haven’t been sick nearly as often as I used to! I’m usually due for a cold around this time of the year, but it hasn’t happened yet and I’m keeping my fingers crossed it doesn’t. Incase it does though, I’ll be prepared with the essentials. Since there are so many natural remedies for combating a cold, I figured I’d share a few of my favorites.
Lemon Tea with Vitamin C:
I like to incorporate herbal tea into my nightly routine for natural cold remedies. Bigelow I Love Lemon Herbal Tea is a great option with Vitamin C to help boost your immune system. As soon as I feel a cold coming on, this is one of the first things I reach for. If I’m battling a sore throat, a warm cup of tea always seems to soothe it.
Thieves + Oregano Essential Oil:
Thieves and Oregano essential oil are both great options for immune support. Young Living’s Thieves blend (get it here) is known for its powerful combination of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary essential oils. It works best for immune support when applied to the bottom of your feet, taken in a vegetable capsule, or diffused in the air. Oregano oil is known for its antibacterial and anti fungal properties, also making it a great immune support supplement.
Diffusing Eucalyptus and R.C:
I also love using my essential oils for respiratory support. My favorite oils for respiratory support are R.C. and Eucalyptus. Diffusing usually gives maximum support as the oils go into the air. I like to keep these two oils diffusing throughout the night or wear in an essential oil diffuser necklace for use throughout the day . Peppermint essential oil is also a great refreshing choice. Here’s a detailed article on how to use essential oils.
Herbal Tea:
With tea, the possibilities are endless. Since colds usually suck out most of our energy, along with tea that has Vitamin C, another great option that can be found at Walmart is Bigelow Green Tea for an energy boost. This gives just the amount of energy, but not too much so you can still have time to rest. It’s the perfect balance! Tea is usually my go-to drink to start and end the day. I like to keep a variety on hand at all times.

I love Bigalow’s I Love Lemon tea. I am literally drinking their plantation mint right now lol I had a humidifier for about 2 years and it gave out on me last year… I got sick around new years and finally got over it this weekend but a new humidifier helped with that a lot.
Great tips.
