The first official day of fall may have already passed, but for me, October 1st sounds more fitting, so we’re just going to do things my way today. Happy fall! It’s currently below 80 degrees here in Dallas, so that’s basically cool fall weather, right? Northerners, don’t answer that. We’ll take what we can get! In celebration, I’ve been thinking of all the things I want to do this season and I’ve put together a fall bucket list. It shouldn’t be too hard to get through this list this year:
Go Apple Picking
I know this request is pushing it here in Texas since I don’t think apple picking is really possible here, but maybe there’s some secret hidden gem I don’t know about yet. I’m willing to find out so I can relive this event again.
Make Apple Cider Sangria
This recipe caught my eye and it sounds like the perfect addition to go along with football.
Purchase My First Bath & Body Works Candle
I know what you’re thinking. Who am I and have I been living under a rock? Apparently so because I’m embarrassed to admit I’ve obviously been missing out on the sweater weather party and all other B&BW scents that seem to take over my Instagram this time of year.
Try the New Starbucks Toasted Graham Latte
I’ve heard this is better than the PSL, so we’ll see. Truth be told, I don’t really get what all the hype is around the PSL anyway. I mean, they’re good and I still fall into the trap of feeling the need to document my first one of the season like every other #basicb*tch out there, but I enjoy my white mochas just as much too.
Visit the Dallas Arboretum Pumpkin Village
Chris and I went last year and we were impressed! Pumpkins galore! This is one of the most popular fall themed things to do in Dallas and it’s worth a visit if you’re in the area.
Make Gumbo
One of my favorite tastes of home. This is a Louisiana classic, but the good news is you can make it too with my easy cheat recipe! There are so many different ways to make gumbo and it never disappoints. I recently came up with a new recipe that I can’t wait to share. We usually save the gumbo making for when it’s cooler out, so needless to say it’s been long overdue.
Go to the State Fair
You can’t live nearby and not attend the State Fair of Texas. It’s like the fried food capital of the world. I purposely go hungry!
Get Lost in a Corn Maze
The last time Chris and I visited a haunted corn maze we were in Vermont. I’m thinking we should easily be able to find another here in Texas. Being chased through a corn maze by a masked man with a chainsaw somehow sounds appealing this time of year!
Go Biking
It’s been a long time coming, but Chris and I finally bought bikes. Now that it won’t be as hot out, I’m ready to hit the trails.
Writing all of this down just got me really excited! I’m officially dreaming of cool air and changing leaves. What’s on your fall bucket list this year?

Haha I did my fall bucket list today too! For us Southerners the 1st of October just makes more sense as the start of Fall! 🙂 I've never had a BBW candle either! I've only gotten Yankee candles because although they are ridiculously expensive for a candle, at least I KNOW they work and actually make my house smell good, I wasn't as sure about the BBW candles. But I want to try one!

This is a great list! I absolutely love this time of year. You definitely need to go get yourself a Bath & Body Works candle, their fall collection is amazing this year. You won't regret it!

I miss the state fair so much! Can't wait to be back next year! I hope you find a place to go apple picking near Dallas-we never did it growing up so I'm super excited to do it for the first time in the Midwest! 🙂

I really want to try the Toasted Graham Latte. To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of pumpkin-flavored things unless it's pumpkin pie. I know, blasphemy!

I would love to make gumbo. I'm also glad you shared that apple cider sangria recipe. I saw one the other day and thought I would love it but it had cinnamon whiskey in it and I can't stomach that stuff.

I live in Charleston, South Carolina, so we're nowhere near crisp fall temps yet! (It's actually pouring here all weekend–boo.) I can't wait until the weather gets a little cooler so we can start in on our own fall list!
