Summer is almost here and I can tell by my already changing skin. It’s the time of year when my face looks a little more shiny (thanks Texas heat) and is more prone to breakouts. I always alter my facial skin care routine this time of year to give it a little more attention and to help prevent clogged pores. Lately, I couldn’t help but notice all these new skin care products with charcoal. While this isn’t exactly new, it’s been rapidly increasing in popularity recently. Charcoal in skin care products is known for its ability to draw out and trap deep impurities, kind of like a magnetic effect. It’s an effective way to get a deep clean to remove makeup and unwanted junk in your pores.
When my skin needs some extra attention, I turn to Bioré® Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser and Bioré® Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips. Incorporating these products into my skin care routine leaves my face feeling like it can breathe again in the heavy summer heat. After altering my routine with these products, I found it works best to use the Bioré® Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser in the morning and at night and to use the Bioré® Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips at night before bed.
Using the Bioré® Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser will give you a fresh start to your day and will give a deep cleaning after everything your face has been exposed to throughout the day, since it cleans twice as better as a basic cleanser and naturally purifies your pores. It’s gentle enough for everyday use and it’s oil free so you don’t have to worry about added shine (which I’m always trying to avoid)! It pumps out black but is white once lathered and rinses clean.
The Bioré® Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips are easier to incorporate into your routine at night if you’re like me and always in a hurry in the morning since you should keep them on for about ten minutes. The strips draw out excess oil and dirt that cause blackheads and are the deepest way to clean pores. To apply, simple wet your nose and place the sticky side onto your nose. Press it down evenly and let it sit for ten minutes and then slowly peel it off. I find that it comes off very easily and painlessly if you dampen the corners of the strip!
You can find these Bioré® products in the beauty section of Target! From now until June 20, using the Target Cartwheel app, you can receive a $5 gift card when you purchase any three Bioré® items!
Have you tried any skin care products with charcoal yet? What are your thoughts on these?
