Can we say hell yeah to it finally being Friday!? Did anyone else feel like this week was the longest ever? It just seemed to drag by. Maybe that’s because it was filled with not so good news this time around.
Yesterday I spent the day at the vet with Hailey and now I’m one worried dog momma. I noticed a large, hard knot under her eye last week, so I took her to the doctor to get it checked out. The vet is thinking the knot could be caused by infection in the root of her tooth since she does have a fracture on her back tooth. We won’t know for sure if it’s an infection, or worst case scenario a cancerous growth until she goes in for an x-ray. What worries me is that in order to get an x-ray, dogs have to be put under anesthesia. That’s enough right there to get my anxiety and stress on a whole different level. I’m hoping everything goes smoothly. She goes back to the vet next week for blood work to make sure she’s healthy enough for anesthesia, and if so, she’ll get her x-rays and if it’s the tooth, they’ll be extracting that the same day too. Poor girl!
To relive some stress, I did a little retail therapy at Natural Grocers and may have went a little overboard in the vitamin department. I’m so excited to see if the vitamin B complex will give me a boost in energy and I really love how these one a day multivitamins are made from whole foods. I’m not the best when it comes to eating my fruits and vegetables everyday, so this has got to be better than nothing. This is my first time trying a probiotic too, so I’m excited to see if I notice any changes.
I’m trying to get back on track and up my water intake and eliminate sodas. I used to be so good at this, but then I got a little too comfortable enjoying a root beer here and there and now I’ve been craving the sugar from it. To get back on track, I’ve been adding peppermint essential oil to my water and it helps kick that sweet crave while also providing digestive support and curbing my appetite. Other favorites of mine are any citrus oil! Did I mention I’m basically obsessed with essential oils at this point? I use them everyday! (If you’re interested in getting started, this post will help).
In addition to adding oils to my water, I’ve been making some of my own blends to help with stress, weight loss, and give me a boost of energy. This is what my countertops have been looking like lately. It’s an #oiloverload.
Earlier this week I finally got the Shea Moisture African Black Soap I’ve been wanting to try for like six months now. I’ve heard nothing but great things about this stuff! I’ve been using it with my Clarisonic and I’m hoping it will help with my oily skin that gets out of control in the warmer, humid weather without over drying. I’m also interested to see if it will help with dark spots. So far, I’m loving how soft and oil free it leaves my skin. Has anyone tried this before?
Have a great weekend!
