Two of my favorite things to do around Christmas time are holiday baking and making holiday houses. This past weekend, I officially kicked off the Christmas season by starting my operation all things Christmas. First on the agenda was to successfully make a holiday house that didn’t fall apart an hour later. Next was to make dessert. Christmas movies are on basically 24/7 now, so it’s totally necessary.
The holiday house I made this year was very easy to do and required minimal ingredients. The hardest part is always getting the pieces to stick together to hold the structure. It’s usually an epic fail on my part, but this year’s house was a success!
I made the house out of Honey Maid graham crackers and used Skippy peanut butter to hold the edges together. For the structure of the house, you will need 6 graham crackers: two for the roof, two for the sides, and two for the front and back. Use two full sized graham crackers for the roof. For the sides, cut about a half an inch on each graham cracker. For the front and back, cut the top corners into a triangle to make a peaked roof shape. It helps to cut one and then lay it on top the next to measure them equally.
Once you have all the pieces ready, attach the front and back pieces to the sides with peanut butter to help them stick. Simply coat the edges in the peanut butter and press each side into it. Once you have your foundation, attach each side of the roof gently with peanut butter. I would advise decorating your roof first before attaching so you aren’t applying extra pressure onto the structure. For my roof, I coated it in white icing and added shredded coconut for a snow effect, then accented it with Dots candy. This is your time to get creative though, so use whatever you like!
With my leftover Skippy peanut butter and Honey Maid graham crackers, I made a batch of mini peanut butter graham cheesecakes.
W H A T Y O U N E E D
3/4 cup Honey Maid graham cracker crumbs
1 cup Skippy peanut butter
1/2 cup peanut butter chocolate chips
1 1/2 cup sugar
16 oz cream cheese
3 tbs butter (melted)
1/4 cup flour
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs

Place cupcake liners in cupcake baking dish. Finely crush graham crackers to make a crust. Combine crushed graham cracker crust with 3 tbs of melted butter and 3 tbs of sugar. Press a thin layer of the crust mixture into each cup cake liner. Place a small spoonful of peanut butter onto the center of the crust for the center filling. Combine cream cheese, remaining sugar, flour, eggs and vanilla, and beat until it is thoroughly mixed. Pour the cream cheese mixture into each cupcake liner on the baking sheet. Bake on 350 for 20 minutes or until done. Once done, melt the peanut butter chips and coat as an icing ontop the cake. Top additional non melted chips for extra flavor. This recipe will make approximately 12 mini cakes.
You should be able to find all ingredients for the graham cracker houses and mini cheesecakes at Walmart on the cookie, peanut butter, candy, and baking aisles! You can save .50 when you buy one Honey Maid Grahams 12.2 oz or larger.

Yum that's so cute. We have a gingerbread making party later this month and I never end up eating them but spending too much money on buying the kits. I might do this instead as a cheaper and tasty alternative . Thanks for the idea!

those are adorable! I'm questioning why I have never used PB to hold my houses together. Genius.
