Do you ever just get the urge to play a game? Maybe it’s all the Sega Genesis playing that occurred while I was a kid, because I still do. Some of my favorite Friday nights in college involved video games, my roommates, and best friends. Many times, we would make a game out of the game itself and play until the early hours of the morning. We’d start with the classics and end with the new. Dance sessions to get crunk to the Crank Dat Soulja Boy and the Cupid Shuffle always followed.
I earned the bragging right to say I learned the Cupid Shuffle on Bourbon Street (always keepin’ it classy ’round here). I’m also a self proclaimed master at the Soulja Boy, and no, you can’t do it like me, so don’t do it like me, I see you trying to do it like me, man that was ugly (I’m the best, okay!?). I mean, if you didn’t know what all the latest songs and moves were, you just weren’t cool. I’ve been missing those college nights lately, so I decided to recreate them with Just Dance 2015 on the Wii U.
Y’all. I’m so behind on the time now. Just going on Youtube and searching the NaeNae was enough to prove that last sentence true for me. So, in attempt to feel fun and cool again, I challenged Chris to a Just Dance battle. I felt better knowing all the new songs in the game, so hey, maybe I still have it.
Playing Just Dance 2015 gave me dejavu to my freshman year in college. It was fun, loud, and dance worthy. The game features over 40 of today’s most popular songs and artists, including Avicii (that’s a win in my book), Ellie Goulding, and Pharrell to name a few, as well as some classic favorites. New features like the dance challenger mode have you never dancing alone, and you can even dance against other players from around the world. What’s neat about this game is that it’s a fun and different way to get everyone off their feet for exercise in disguise and can be enjoyed by the whole family. It encourages you to have fun and let loose and is a much better alternative for burning calories than traditional cardio if you ask me.
To bring awareness to National Bullying Prevention Month, Just Dance 2015 and Stomp Out Bullying have partnered to show people everywhere that itโs okay to dance to your own beat. The game is available on Amazon for the Wii, Wii U, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Playstation 4 so we can all help spread awareness by embracing our own beat too.
Are you ever in the mood to play a video game? Which one is your favorite?
