I’m just going to go ahead and apologize in advance for being the cause of your next obsession after trying this ooey gooey because it is that good.
Friends, meet this super easy to make, five ingredient ooey gooey butter cake, also known as hot, warm, gooey goodness in your mouth!

I remember the first time I ever tried ooey gooey cake. It was unlike anything I had ever tried before, and it was amazing. I immediately knew I’d want to recreate my new favorite dessert, so I went on a mission to find the easiest way to do so.
After playing around in the kitchen, I figured out the best simplified way to make this butter cake and luckily it only needs five ingredients!
Ooey Gooey Butter Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
– 1 box of yellow cake mix
– 1 stick of butter, melted
– 2 cups of powdered sugar
– 8 oz cream cheese, softened
– 3 eggs
Instructions:
Step 1 – Combine the cake mix, 1 egg, and melted butter.
Step 2 – Press the mixture into a greased 9×13 baking dish.
Step 3 – Mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, 2 eggs, and spread ontop of the bottom layer.
Step 4 – Bake the ooey gooey cake at 325 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
That’s it. Sounds simple enough right!? Just wait til you try this!

The recipe is spot on except the thing about putting the cake mix on the bottom layer and the powder sugar mixture on the bottom layer. Maybe a typo. Just do your cake mixture on bottom and your cream cheese powderd sugar mixture on top it is wonderful.
