For the first time in six months, it finally felt like winter officially left us. The sun decided to come out and grace us with it’s presence and this weekend turned out to be one of the warmest, most beautiful weekends we’ve had in a very long time. I’m talking 70 degrees out, can’t complain one bit!
Since doing anything other than being outside wasn’t even an option, Chris and I decided to head over to Six Flags. We went on Saturday and it just so happened to be the day the park reopened for the season. We were a bit worried at first thinking it was going to be packed like a madhouse, but surprisingly there weren’t too many people there. Obviously that meant we had the park almost to ourselves. The lines were very short, basically any six year old’s dream. After spending our day there, we officially realized we’re old people and just can’t hang like we used to. A few roller coasters in and I was feeling like I just got my ass kicked by Batman himself. Oh to be a kid again!
After we wore ourselves out and realized we’re in fact, not six years old anymore, we decided to lay low and get some ice cream to sit and people watch with. If you’ve never people watched in an amusement park, do yourself a favor in try it. I could write a whole blog post just on the ten types of people you come across at Six Flags. Now that I think about it, that’s probably not a bad idea.
On Sunday we woke up to some cloudy skies and my sun-happy heart wasn’t too happy anymore. A few hours later into the day, the sun came knocking on our door again and invited us to it’s party. We accepted the invite like any other northerner sick of the winter would do and took full advantage once again. We took the dogs out for a walk and then sat for a bit in one of the local park areas. Once poodle decided she had enough of the heat, it was time to go in. Homegirl is going to be in some serious trouble when we get to Dallas if she already can’t hang with these temps. It shall be interesting to say the least.
The rest of the day was spent lounging around in yoga pants and t-shirts while we cooked enough food to feed the entire block. Then we blended up some strawberry daiquiris and called it a day.
Spring time, I love you. Please stick around forever.

I hear you, when I went to Six flags last summer I could only handle a few rides before I was done for the day! Spring days are just the best.
