Am I the only one who feels this way? I don’t enjoy it, I’ve never looked forward to going to the gym, and I still don’t enjoy it once I’m there. It’s the last thing I feel like doing, yet it’s the first thing I should be doing.
I’m guessing by the large amount of people always present at the gym, I probably am the only one who hates being there. Or maybe they really don’t like it either, but force themselves to suck it up anyway, thanks to a friend called motivation that I obviously seem to be lacking. This point was proven today when I went to the gym for the first time this year, or more like the first time in way too many months, if I’m being honest. I was there for a whopping thirty minutes y’all. That’s not crap for someone wanting to lose twenty pounds before bikini season. But as soon as that thirty minute mark hit, you better believe my butt was out of there in record time. So much motivation around here I tell ya.
Don’t let that smile fool ya. Even when I was going to the gym for two hours everyday, I still hated it.
But at least then I had the motivation. I also thought I was fat when I took that picture. Sure, I may not have been as skinny as I had wished to be, but looking back at this makes me feel like a whale now. Which leads me to my next point.. why do (most) women always think they’re fat? You think you’re fat now, then a year later you look at that selfie you took today and think damn I wish I still had that body. Maybe we should all be content and come to the realization that we will never be fully satisfied. I think this is why I currently have no motivation. I look back at old pictures of myself and think what the hell have I done? How did I let this happen? Now it’s way too late to reverse this. But it’s all just a bunch of excuses. There’s always room for improvement and we can always do better. Now back to my main point..
Am I the only one who hates working out? If you’re like me, how do you get yourself excited to go to the gym? It’s always been a dreaded block on my agenda and I would love for that to change. I want to be the person that looks forward to working out. How can I get there? I would love to hear your tips!

You are not only! Lately I have been hating the gym and can not find motivation no matter what. Hoping that changing up the workout and taking some new classes will spark some drive back into me.

I don't think you're alone. I do love working out…I think when I'm doing it, I just focus in my mind on the results…even if I don't make it to the results, it always makes me feel better in the now. Also, it helps to find something you LIKE to do! If weight training ain't yo' thang…then find a class or other activity you do like. That helps with the motivation. Fitness can {and should} be a little fun too. I do always think weight training is a good idea with any program, but it doesn't have to be 100% that. Good luck! 🙂 and just keep it up.

I despise working out!! I seriously have to force myself to go everyday (everyday is a big stretch. More like a few days a week). I suppose we just have to keep our eye on the prize and continue to drag ourselves to the gym.. You've got this!

I'm with you. The only thing that helps me is having a partner to go with.

I'm with you! I hate going to the gym but after I'm done I feel a little better than when I first walked in so that makes it almost worth it. I guess I start getting my motivation when I start seeing results, but before then it's really hard to stay motivated but know that if I stick to it then I will get to my goal. I also feel like I would think of myself as fat when I was 20 lbs lighter and now that I gained the 20 lbs I've actually learned to be content with where I am now. So then that kinda doesn't help because I get comfortable and don't get motivated! LOL I guess it's a struggle and a battle that you have to get through no matter what.

Hahaha wow. I posted about hating the gym yesterday. I'm so tired of the cold in Michigan right now. I can find the freaking motivation to do ANYTHING.

I go through phases…I just got out of a five year phase where I wouldn't step foot in a gym, and now I go daily! You seriously have to find the motivation from within. Like as you age and your metabolism slows down…

I used to hate working out too and always felt awkward at the gym but recently I started doing T25 in the comforts of my own home and love it! It's a good workout and it's only 25 minutes!! Plus I don't have to go anywhere!!
