Look who made it around these parts for a Thanksgiving recap. It’s only a week late, but I guess late is better than never. I’m just going to keep this one short and to the point, with an overload of pictures, since I have a case of the Fridays and all I want to do right now is crawl back in bed and go to sleep on this rainy day. And apparently write really long sentences. I’m totes jealous of all you having a snow day, by the way.
So my Thanksgiving started off with a late arrival into NYC on Wednesday night with two dogs and a cat. It was an interesting train and subway ride to say the least.
Thursday we the men spent the day cooking while Chris’s sister and I lounged around for the most part. It was very relaxing to not be the one over the stove all day. We also ate our body weight in food. Luckily the stores opened that night for Black Friday because I just about needed a size up in clothes after all the carb consumptions I took part in.
After much debate, we decided to brave the crowds Thursday night and for some crazzzyy reason, we thought it would be a good idea to head over to Macy’s in Herald Square. Boy was I wrong. That place was a madhouse and packed shoulder to shoulder. I really didn’t even want anything, it was more of just a people watching experience for me. And experience it was!
After we said hell to the no to that idea, Chris and I went to a few other places for some shopping. I actually ended up in Old Navy for a while. It was 50% off storewide and wasn’t even that packed! I also splurged and got some Hunter boots and liners, so now I just about bought everything on my Christmas list already. Shop til you drop became an understatement and we finally got back in around 3 am, slept, and went back out for more the next day.
Not too much happened on Saturday, mostly just walking and eating our way through the city. We had tickets to the 10pm Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall that night, so we didn’t want to wear ourselves out too much. The show was so pretty. If you’re a Christmas fanatic, get yoself there stat.
Sunday was our last day there. We headed over to Central Park, one of my favorite spots in the city. I could walk around that park for hours and not get tired of the views. There were ice skaters galore and it was the perfect way to spend the evening!
How was your Thanksgiving? Did you find any good Black Friday deals?
