If you’re one of those “Oh my god how could you put your decorations up before Thanksgiving, you must not appreciate that holiday, shame on you” type of people, you should probably just stop reading this post right now since what I’m about to say will most likely go in one ear and out the other. But, if you’re one of those who absolutely loves Christmas and everything the holiday season has to offer, I’m sure you’re about to agree with everything I am about to say.
It all started with a simple request on Tuesday to get a box out of the basement to put the Halloween decorations back in, which then lead to the idea that I might as well save a trip and bring in the Christmas box. After staring at the boxes of decor scattered across my living room floor, I thought what the hell and opened those pretties up. I went upstairs for a quick bubble bath since my feet felt like I was standing on snow barefoot, and when I came back down, my boo thang had already unboxed our tree and had the whole thing put together (minus the ornaments.. he knows I don’t trust him that much). And just like that, my Christmas tree, lights, ornaments, and all were up a week before Thanksgiving.
And I don’t feel ashamed one bit.
Lately I’ve seen one too many posts or tweets with people in disgust about this whole Christmas before Thanksgiving thing, and to be completely honest, I don’t understand it. Last time I checked, people decorate for fall and Halloween a month in advance, am I right or am I right? So why can’t we do the same for Christmas? Why not enjoy the best time of the year as long as you can!?
My whole point behind this is that I don’t see how some people can put two and two together and come to the conclusion that because someone has a decorated tree in their house, they must not be excited to celebrate Thanksgiving. It’s not like we skipped on putting our Thanksgiving tree up and chose the Christmas one instead… just saying. And we also won’t be missing out giving thanks while eating our body weight in turkey. Someone please explain!
And to all the early Christmas decorator haters, I still have my glitter bombed pumpkins out, so there’s that.
Merry Christmas Y’all!

Your tree is beautiful 🙂
I currently have a mixture of both fall and Christmas decor out too, it's that weird transition time. I'm trying to hold onto the fall decor since we're hosting Thanksgiving, but my husband keeps pulling out more and more of the Christmas decorations 😛
Happy Friday!

That's what I'm saying. If it makes me this damn happy then why can't I be this damn happy for a longer period than just LESS THAN A MONTH. And that tree is gorgeous!

I love it! I am totally putting my tree up this weekend! I meant to do it last weekend but I was feeling up to it. I want to enjoy the pretty sparkly things for as long as I can. Lots of people are Grinch's! Don't let them dull your sparkle 🙂 Your tree is beautiful!

Nothing wrong with this at all! As long as you still do it up big for Thanksgiving that is! lol. Just means there is more sparkle to look at!

I love Christmas, I always put my decor up early! I think the tree makes Thanksgiving, it's always been tradition in our house and it wouldn't feel like Thanksgiving without it.

I love Christmas and I always decorate early, normally Nov 11th after the service, little late this year as I started last week. Luckily our Thanksgiving is early October so we do not face the same thanksgiving vs Christmas debate

That tree is gorgeous! I don't put up or Christmas decorations until December but I definitely put up our Halloween Decorations in early September so I don't judge, haha!

Beautiful tree! We put our stuff up yesterday. I don't see anything wrong with putting the tree up before Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is about taking time to be thankful for all the amazing people and things in your life {oh and the food}. I don't know about you but I'm in a little bit of a better mood when the Christmas tree is up and that is def. something to be thankful for 😉
