Have you ever gone on a 60+ mph roller coaster in near freezing temps? Because I have and it’s not pleasant. I don’t know why I thought it would be a good idea to go to Six Flags in the cold, but then again I never said I had the best of ideas. Throw in the idea of eating ice cream outside on top of that and you’ve got the worst decision maker of the year. But it was worth every bite, scream, chill, and thrill!
One and Two: It was Fright Fest at Six Flags, so Chris and I decided it was probably a good idea to go and enjoy one of the last few weekends of the park being open. In case you’ve forgotten, I basically live in Antarctica. Ok, maybe it’s not that bad, but when you’ve lived in the south your whole life, it sure is.
Three: My mom made sure to update me play by play on the LSU game while she sat happily in Tiger Stadium. Talk about a tease. Now the first half of that game though… oh my, don’t get me started. I’m sure the kids at Six Flags learned a whole new vocabulary of words the way my mouth was working Saturday night.
Four: As always, anytime I eat something amazing, in this case Cold Stone ice cream, I try to replicate it at home. Mainly because I find something I like, become bat sh*t obsessed, and only want to eat that for the next week. Here’s my attempt at recreating the ice cream goodness.
Five: I made a huge pot of chicken and sausage gumbo. This was my first attempt at the chicken and sausage since I typically prefer a seafood gumbo, but it did not disappoint. It was so easy too. I think I’ll have to share the recipe with y’all soon. It literally made enough to last for weeks.
Six: My boo thang keeping it classy. Chris is allowed to dress up on Halloween for work, so we went to the costume store to brainstorm some ideas. He’s leaning towards the gorilla in a tux carrying bananas in a brief case idea. And that’s why I love that man.

My husband and I went out for ice cream the other night even though it was freezing. Sometimes, it really is the best decision ever. 🙂

Ha! I've wanted to go to Fright Fest, but it's always too cold by the time I get around to it! At least now I know that if I go, I should be sure to wear ski goggles and a parka on the roller coaster!
