What does one do for Halloween after college? With this little holiday being right around the corner, it got me thinking. What have I done for Halloween since I’ve graduated? Well, basically nothing. I think last year we made hotdogs (weird family tradition) and I went to a haunted house with my dad. There were no costumes or the whole shebang involved and that upsets me. Isn’t that the point of Halloween? To get dressed up and get as ridiculous as you can be? Thought so… but that seems to have disappeared around these parts.
I have absolutely no plans for Halloween and haven’t even considered the fact of dressing up or making a costume, because in all honesty, I just don’t know what.to.do.
So, what does one do for Halloween after college? When there are no more sorority functions to dress up for..
Or frat parties to attend (for the free beer of course)..
What to do what to do? Turn the lights off and pretend you don’t have any candy for the few trick or treaters you may get? Or put together a last minute costume and go to the local college bar and act like you’re a freshman all over again? Orrr bust out the old (circa 2004), too embarrassing for words, pictures and realize just how weird your old costumes were?
If you think that’s weird, you should see what my boyfriend at the time was wearing. Yikes. Anndd that’s my cue to leave. I’m sure I’ll regret posting that picture sooner or later.

This is a question I've been asking myself the past several weeks. Sometimes I feel like between college and having children you just have to pretend that Halloween doesn't exists. We're considering having some friends over for a costume and movie night. We shall see.

You go out and find other adults that still want an excuse to dress up and act like they are in college…and throw a Halloween party together! Or at least, that is what we do 🙂

We went to a house party last year, but no one is throwing one this year so we are just doing nothing. I was kind of relieved not to have to spend $50-$100 on a cheaply made new costume. We'll still pass out candy to trick-or-treaters, but we're not dressing up or going to a party this year.
Basically, since college ended I haven't dressed up for Halloween unless someone is having a party. With the exception of going downtown one year to celebrate with all the college kids 😛

I will admit that after college I pretty much stopped celebrating. I def. miss all the fun parties that I use to attend in college.

I basically made my friend throw a halloween party, thats why im dressing up haha!

I was never really into Halloween *except* for in college haha these days, people are lucky if I wear even one costume-y item. I guess that just makes me a party pooper 😉

You are too cute! But yes I agree, Halloween is uber boring after college – until you have kids. So maybe it will just be boring for a little while longer? ha!
