Last night, this happened:
Football, 54 degree temps, windows open, and a cozy fall candle lit. And it was the best thing ever. There’s something about the fresh, crisp fall air that instantly lifts my mood and I can never get enough of it! If there’s one thing I like more about living here than in the south, it’s the fact that I actually get a fall season. So sorry for all you southerners with your 85 degree weather today. It’s currently in the 60s right now and I’m going to take it all in while it lasts!
Since I’m as excited as a kid entering Toys R Us for the first time, I’ve put together some of my favorite things about fall to share with you and get you in the mood. I could go on and on forever, but here’s a few:
1. Boots
I love love love boot season! I could wear them all year long if it was fashionably acceptable. I’ve been eyeing those Tory Burch riding boots for the past 2 years now, so if anyone wants to be a kind contributor to my bank account, I would love you forever! Also, I’ve been digging the combat boot look lately. I imagine these paired with some dark green skinny jeans for the perfect fall outfit. I never thought I could pull the hipster/combat boot look off, but I’m really digging it and thinking I’ll give it a try!
2. Layers, Leggings, and Colored Denim
This is my favorite style. Throwing on a long shirt with some skinny jeans or leggings and high boots will (hopefully) never go out of style. Plus it gives an instant slimming effect. Win win!
3. Football Season
Need I say more?
4. Starbucks Seasonal Latte Time
Now don’t get me wrong, Starbucks is great year round, but what better time to enjoy sipping on a hot latte than the fall? Throw in some pumpkin spiced flavors and you’ve officially given every blogger an early Christmas. They’re good, but come on people, are they really that great!? Sure I’ll get one or two, but I’ll continue ordering my white mochas on the reg.
5. Cozy Candles
I am a sucker for keeping my home cozy during the cooler times of the year and one of the best ways to easily add that feeling is lighting a candle. 10 bonus points for a spiced or pie scent that will make your neighbors think you’re Betty Crocker.
6. Foliage
Last year was my first time really experiencing foliage in New England and it was beautiful. Louisiana trees ain’t got nothin on these trees! But I still enjoyed it all my life, even in the south. One of my fondest childhood memories is gathering with all the kids in the neighborhood and jumping in a huge pile of freshly raked leaves while the crisp wind would blow. That memory holds a special place in my heart.
What are some of your favorite things about fall?
Don’t forget to #backthatazzup! With the Saints and the LSU Tigers playing this weekend, I know I will 🙂 Have a great weekend!

Loooove all of these things. I could use a loan for the TB boots too. I think I'm going to go buy some "cozy" candles this weekend!

Still mid-80's here in NC so I'm jealous of your 60's. Can you send it this way? Can't believe I forgot about all the great fall candles! I might be able to join in on lighting them in another month…or two.

Love, love, love this post! I'm ready to bust out the boots, leggings, layers, and candles. I grew up in FL and never had the change of seasons until moving further North. Can't say that I love the winters, but fall is amazing!!

I love sweater and boots season! And I'm loving the Betty Crocker bonus points comment! However, I could do without the football. But I'm ready to welcome fall with open arms!

What is this 85 degrees? We still have highs in the 90s, haha. And I'll take 49 points to start off a football season 🙂

Football Season makes me the happiest woman in the world! But in Austin, it's still upper 90's/100's 🙁 And that makes me very sad! Can't wait for scarves and boots weather! Whenever that arrives 🙂 xoxo
