Happy Labor Day weekend y’all. It’s been a rainy and gloomy one around here so it looks like I’ll be spending the rest of my extended weekend in the mall (not like that’s a bad thing!) I start my last year of grad school tomorrow so I’m going to take advantage of this day as much as I can.
Work has kept me busy busy and tired as hell and I can only imagine what it’s going to be like with night classes fit into my schedule as well. But if this school year goes by nearly as fast as the last one, I’m ok with that!
Since I was busy last week with a late work dinner, Chris and I had to postpone our 4 year anniversary dinner to this weekend. We decided to eat at a cajun restaurant…..in New England. I ordered the chicken and adouille sausage gumbo. I couldn’t help but laugh by the presentation of it. They put the rice on one side and the roux (or more like stew to quote them exactly) on the other side. Hey, at least they tried haha!
The rest of the weekend was spent in Boston at our favorite LSU alumni bar, with some friends from home, cheering on our LSU Tigers! We won of course 🙂 None of us had much of a voice left by the time the game was over, but that’s perfectly normal and expected during the best time of the year. And the alumni bar we go to is quite impressive. It’s just as loud and crazy as all the bars back in Baton Rouge around campus. I posted a video on Instagram just to give y’all an idea of what it’s like. This is pretty typical when you pack a bunch of south Louisianians into one place though. So now that football is back, my life is complete. Now I just need the Saints to kickoff and I’ll really be one happy girl.
I hope all of you had a fun weekend as well! Are any of you as excited for the start of football season as I am!?

I love that you can find alumni bars from practically any school in all the bigger cities! I'm sure that helps a bunch when you're missing Louisiana! Glad to see that y'all had a good weekend & happy anniversary!!

Pretty flowers!
Wish we had alumni bars around here….and a football team.
