Some of you may be wondering.. I get it. We all like to know who the person behind the blog is. So I thought today would be the perfect time to continue on with last weeks post and let y’all know a little more about me, my relationship, what I do, why I blog… you know, all that good stuff!
1. How long did you live in Louisiana?
I was born in Louisiana and have lived there my entire life.. well, except now. I attended LSU, aka the best school everrr, and got my undergraduate degree in psychology. All of my family and most of my friends are still in Louisiana, so that is where my heart is. I try to visit as often as I can, which unfortunately has only been twice since I’ve moved.
2. When and why did you move to New England?
I moved to Connecticut August 2012 to attend grad school. Luckily, I have a boyfriend who didn’t think twice about joining me, so we packed up our cars and drove 1,400 miles to our new home (you can read more about our stops along the way here). I’m only a 1.5 hour drive to Boston and a 2 hour train ride to NYC so I can’t complain!
3. How did you meet Chris?
Chris + I have been together since college at LSU (August 2009, so basically 4 years) and that is essentially where we met. He actually lived at the same apartment complex as I did my freshman year. One day, we were both outside walking our dogs and crossed paths. Funny side note- we both grew up in the same town and went to high school together, but hung out with different groups and never even spoke to each other (partially because he was two years ahead of me). So when we crossed each other, we had that awkward “Hey, I kinda know you ice breaker moment” and I couldn’t get rid of him since. Seriously! He may have uninvitedly showed up at my place a million few times and used the excuse of “my dog wanted to see your dog”. And then the rest was history!
4. Why did you start a blog?
I’ve been reading blogs for the past year and became really addicted to them. I always wished in the back of my mind I could start my own, but searched for excuses why I wouldn’t be able to. When I finally moved and started this new chapter of my life, I realized Chris + I were seeing and doing so many things, that I wanted a way to document it so I could one day look back on. I also may have a shopping addiction and admit it, where else can I rant about my latest designer styles at thrift store prices finds and have people actually care!? Plus I have already met some awesome blog friends, so there’s no turning back now! The blog world is a life changer y’all!
5. What is your plan after grad school?
This is where you all come in for the save. Tell me what to do because I suck at making decisions! Prior to moving from Louisiana, my initial plan was to make my way to NYC or Boston, preferably NYC once I finish school. Well, after living here for nearly a year, I’m not too sure. Here’s why: I miss my family + friends, I miss the food, I miss the culture, I miss the fun, I miss football in the south, and basically every thing I grew up with is non existent here. Southern living really is a different way of life, and you won’t realize just how much you miss it til it’s gone. I also have a love/hate relationship with this place. Ask me in the summer and I’ll tell you I’m moving to NYC in a year. Ask me in the winter and I’ll say screw this place, I’m going south. See what I mean? With that being said, I’m not fully ready to go back to Louisiana, I still have that urge to explore and live in a new city. So I’m thinking Dallas or Austin, TX. It’s close enough to drive home when I want and I feel I could still get some of that New Orleans/Southern culture I crave!
That just about sums up all the basics. About me posts are one of my favorite blog reads, so I’ll be sure to have more of these coming in the near future. If you have any ideas for questions you would like me to answer, feel free to leave them in the comments section!

Loved reading this post and getting to know more about you. In theory I would love to move up north near NYC or Boston, but last summer, I spent two months in Pennsylvania, and I was so homesick for Louisiana. At least you have a little while to decide! Your life sounds like an adventure.

I spent 8 years of my life in VA and 3 in SC (I'm a military brat) and I desperately miss the southern culture and southern atmosphere and historical sites and weather and food and everything! I haven't been there since I went to college in 2008!

What part of NOLA are you from? I was born there and my family moved to Ohio when I was five, but the rest of my fam is still down there (and most are LSU grads too). Even though I didn't grow up in the south, the culture obviously a HUGE part of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way. 🙂 P.S. GEAUX TIGERS!
