There’s something about fall that tends to make me slack off a bit when it comes to my health. If you’re anything like me, you get distracted by the holidays, workout a little less than you should, and eat a little more of what you shouldn’t. Healthy fall habits are something I admittedly need to work on, otherwise every bit of progress I’ve made in the gym these last few months will quickly disappear. That’s not something I’d be okay with, so instead, I’ll be focusing on new healthy fall habits to incorporate into my lifestyle. Below is what I think will work best!
Healthy Habits for Fall:
1. Workout at least 5 days per week
Word is many people on average gain 10 pounds during the holidays and I know for a fact I don’t want to be part of that population! My goal will be to continue working out at least 5 days per week with no excuses. On days I can’t make it to the gym for a class, any type of cardio will do, even if it means walking the dog!
2. Get enough sunlight
The cooler months make it a bit more challenging to get enough sunlight and Vitamin D, so this healthy fall habit should be a priority! Vitamin D supplements are great for when you can’t make it outside as much as you’d like due to extreme weather. Nature Made® vitamins and supplements are an easy, convenient way to help your body get the nutritional support it needs every day, whether it be to support bone health, immune health or energy metabolism (helping convert food into energy)†. Vitamin D3 supplements are extremely helpful for supporting teeth, bone, muscle, and immune health.
3. Stay hydrated
Just because it’s not as hot out and you don’t sweat as much during the fall as you do during the summer, you still need to drink the same amount of water to stay hydrated! It helps to keep a large refillable bottle on hand and an alarm set every hour to meet hydration goals. I try to aim for half my body weight in ounces daily.
4. Boost the immune system
Viruses tend to spread more during the fall and winter months, so immune support is crucial! A daily vitamin and supplement regimen is a healthy fall habit to have. Vitamin C is one of the most important since it helps support the immune system.
5. Stay active
Aside from getting into the gym for a workout, I always want to make it a priority to stay active during the fall, meaning more outdoor adventures vs Netflix marathons on the couch. For extra energy support, I’ll also be incorporating Vitamin B supplements into my daily routine since Vitamin B12 is great for supporting cellular energy production in the body.
