My health is always a work in progress as I strive to be the best possible version of myself. My goal is to maintain a healthy lifestyle, not only to look my best, but to feel my best too. I’ve really kicked things into gear over the last month and a half by hitting the gym a minimum of 6 days per week, which to be honest, I never thought would have been possible for someone like me who doesn’t exactly enjoy working out that much.
Prior to getting back into the gym, I still focused on a variety of things to maintain a healthy lifestyle. These are all things anybody of any age can incorporate into their life and are also very simple to do. If you’re looking to get a kickstart on becoming your best possible self, I recommend following these 5 easy ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle!
1. Exercise at least 30 minutes per day
Everyone’s version of exercise is different. Regardless if you choose to go to the gym, go for a run or bike ride, or even just take the dog for a walk, it all counts as cardio! If you make it a priority, it’s easy to find just 30 minutes of your time for your health!
2. Meal prep for the week
Your activity level and diet are easily the two most important aspects of your overall health. In fact, many would say your diet is actually more important than exercise, because after all, you are what you eat! Eating clean is the secret ingredient you need to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and meal prepping is the path to success. When you meal plan, you won’t be tempted by huger to grab the nearest meal within reach, which can often lead to something unhealthy.
3. Drink lots of water
A general rule of thumb to follow is to aim to drink half your body weight in ounces in water daily. Doing so will keep help flush out toxins, aid in digestion, and support your overall well being.
4. Get 8 hours of sleep
According to the National Sleep Foundation, the recommended daily amount of sleep for adults is 7-9 hours, with 8 hours per night being a safe average amount of sleep to aim for. This is the amount of time your body needs to rest and be able to function to its fullest potential.
5. Take daily vitamins and supplements
Taking vitamins and dietary supplements can provide great support. I personally like to take a daily multivitamin and probiotic every morning at breakfast. My current go-to probiotic , Nature Made® Advanced Dual Action Probiotic, has worked well for me. It has been clinically studied and provides dual support to both your small and large intestine for comprehensive coverage to help support digestive balance and healthy gut flora.†
Nature Made® is the #1 pharmacist recommended brand for many key dietary supplement categories. They have a variety of vitamins, minerals and supplements to help support nutritional gaps with your health goals in mind, so I highly recommend incorporating them into your lifestyle as well! It’s an easy, convenient way to help your body get the nutritional support it needs every day, whether it be to support bone health, immune health, or energy metabolism (helping convert food into energy).† Each month I like to stock up and save on supplements and Nature Made® items at Walmart since they have the best everyday low prices.
